Yeah I know, just Wandy saying he fought Quinton twice sounds bad to me.

Im a huge Wand fan and i hope he destroys bisping but with that said he is 1-3 in the UFC and hasn’t looked like the Axe murder in quite some time. This isn’t Pride who knows how this fight will go.

I don’t think he looked terrible in any of those 3 losses though. The Franklin fight was close enough that nobody would have complained if Wanderlei had won… The Liddell fight was epic and competitive throughout. The Jackson fight he got caught early, which raises some concerns about his chin but i don’t think Bisping has the power to knock him out with a baseball bat.

by Stanlee on Nov 26, 2009 12:07 PM EST up reply actions

That punch from Rampage that he threw on Wanderlei would have knocked anyone in 205 out cold. That was just a clean hook right to the chin (on the button). Wanderlei should take this despite him throwing wild haymakers. The big question is whether or not the weight cut is going to affect Wanderlei’s performance.

by chrisbboy82 on Nov 26, 2009 12:16 PM EST up reply actions

I thought that Wandelei’s strategy before that hook was great, he was working Rampage’s lead leg that probably still had welts on it shaped like Forrest Griffin’s foot. It turns out, Rampage never learned to check leg kicks because he’d rather his opponent stand in front of him.

by Stanlee on Nov 26, 2009 12:24 PM EST up reply actions

100% Agree.

I thought he actually looked pretty good, if a little tenative to throw fists at first. He landed a nice leg kick or two, stuffed the takedown and looked to clinch for knees….honestly, I think if he had have been a little more patient and not just say “FUCK IT!!! I’m tired of waiting let’s just throw down!” the fight might have looked a lot different.

Granted, that’s not to say he would have won, but people wouldn’t just be ready to toss him on the scrap heap and say “he got destroyed!”.

not just say "FUCK IT!!! I’m tired of waiting let’s just throw down!

If he didnt do that he wouldnt be Wanderlei Silva

I hope Wanderlei murders Bisping and eats his liver. Preferably in the octagon. <3 Wanderlei.

really?

i know he did it for his health and his career, so i think it was a good move. But from a looks perspective, i miss the old scarred up, wanderlei. He looked more like a scary Neanderthal that could destroy you. Now he kind of looks like a brazilian Jack Nicholson like someone already said

I hope Michael Bisping takes offence to this and says something back and starts an honest to goodness feud.

little chance of that happening

bisping isn’t gonna be roped into talking smack again, after the hendo incident. for a throwback, i loved that hendo said all he needed was to train cardio to beat bisping. guess he was right.

210 is still a big cut to 185. i really wonder what his cardio is gonna be like. I mean, wandy is a THICK dude. I thought rampage was think, and the staredowns between those two showed just how huge wandy is. he’s gonna need to lose a good amount of muscle mass, because he’s always been shredded.

In any case, this fight was almost handpicked for wandy. bisping doesn’t have KO power and won’t be able to overwhelm him, because then he’ll be susceptible to a brawl, and lights out. I see bisping trying to be patient and take silva down, and catch a knee in the process.

When was the last time a Brazilian fighter started a blood-feud over a real/perceived/imaginary insult?
