Quote of the Day: Brock Lesnar Was Performing at 60% of His Potential

White revealed that doctors told Lesnar, he's been dealing with the condition for over a year and that he's only been operating at 60-percent of his potential:

"That's a lot [expletive] scary. He's at 60-percent of his potential? What's going to happen when he comes back? How much faster can you beat people? Hopefully we can get though this."

Dana White, striking fear into the hearts of heavyweights everywhere.  Brock Lesnar will return, and when he does, this ordeal will probably make him an even bigger star than before.

Things look dark now, but Spring and Summer will probably be huge for the UFC.  I fully expect the return of Brock Lesnar and a reconciliation with Quinton Jackson to lift the company out of its current short-term slump.

Way to show restraint.

"I thought I won the first round and I thought I won the second round. You see the damage on his face? I got him good," Ortiz said after the fight. "For me coming back, this was supposed to be a warm-up fight. Me and Dana talked about it being a warm-up fight, but Forrest is no warm-up fight, being ranked fifth in the world. I might have bitten off a little too much, but I still thought I won the fight....After back surgery, back after only one year. He wont even come back at “60%”. You cant be that size of an individual and not have this affect you for the rest of your life especially when you consider the competitive nature of this environment.

Physically and psychologically he will not be the same. Whether he can compensate for this and make up for it remains to be seen.

I heard that Lesnar built a time machine, went back and single-handedly freed the United States. But being humble as he is, he let George Washington take the credit.

Believe it.

That’s nothing. I hear he went back 100 million years ago and circumcised a T-Rex with a pair of toenail clippers.

What? I only said positive things!

Facts have no meaning in the world of masterhaters.

Didn’t you see ufc4’s comment above? “I’m sure between he and jemaleddin there will be plenty of hate to go around.” See? You don’t even need to say anything, let alone something bad, to be a Brock hater.

“That’s impossible. No one can give more than 100 percent. By definition that’s the most any one can give.”

by woooburn on Nov 24, 2009 12:33 AM EST up reply actions

This is completely retarded.

Was there like some scientific data in Brock’s colon that said he’s only fighting at 60% of his potential? Where did the doctor get those statistics from? It’s obviously just an assumption (retarded one at that). there’s nothing in the condition that can accurately state how much of his potential has been used. It’s the most bogus and retarded thing a doctor can say.

“Well sir, we’ve calculated the injury, did all the math and summed up his condition to evaluate that Brock Lesnar has only used 60% of his potential.. how exactly did i get the data? my ass of course!”

by ontite on Nov 23, 2009 11:48 PM EST reply actions

The data came from Brock’s ass, actually.

Logically, you would say “Brock hasn’t been using his full potential, do to the infection”
Making up numbers is just retarded.

by ontite on Nov 23, 2009 11:50 PM EST up reply actions

The point I derived from all of this is that maybe he can be back to normal in a reasonable amount of time. Even the people that talk shit about him want to see him fight and will be rooting against him when he fights next..

That’s true. I’m not a fan but even i want him to recover. He would leave a great amount of curiosity if he never fights again.

But if his doctor is stating illogical data, then it really makes you skeptical on what to believe.

by ontite on Nov 24, 2009 12:02 AM EST up reply actions

Wait a second

The quote is Dana White misquoting some doctor.

White revealed that doctors told Lesnar, he’s been dealing with the condition for over a year and that he’s only been operating at 60-percent of his potential:

by bignerd on Nov 24, 2009 12:06 AM EST up reply actions

So either White is extremely stupid, or he’s trying to hype up Brock in a dumb fashion. Wait, nvm, its both.

It got you talking about Lesnar, so he is doing his job right.

Russians have a bad enough impression of American values. A story about top American fighters getting their ass fixed for 60% improvement in athletic performance isn’t going to help relations.

What do you mean

That fight blew my mind, as in “My god, I can’t believe the producers actually thought these 2 turds should be on this show”.

by ufc4 on Nov 24, 2009 6:24 PM EST up reply actions

In all honesty

Im sure he will come back better. With an issue like Brock had your body spends its energy trying to heal itself and not recovering from work outs. He would have little to no energy. That means bad training sessions. Throw the neutritionist out the window because food is not being properly absorbed. Brock likely got Pepto sick quite often and food goes out as quick as you can get it in. When youre not nourished you loose your strength. Im sure 60 is just a number they pulled out of the air to put into perspective that Brock was not healthy enough to have a good camp.

by ryanwk628 on Nov 24, 2009 12:15 AM EST reply actions

Yep, pathetic hyping attempt by White.
he’s only been operating at 60-percent of his potential

First, he’s too dumb to understand that correlating number statistics with an injury doesn’t make sense.

What’s going to happen when he comes back? How much faster can you beat people?

Then he forgets that Brock doesn’t really beat his opponents very fast =\

by ontite on Nov 24, 2009 12:23 AM EST reply actions

If – and at the moment, that’s a fairly sizable IF – there is any truth to this, UFC needs to start having handicap matches. Mir & Carwin vs. Brock, anyone?

Brock by double murder at 0:15 R1.

The statement by Dana White is completely fabricated...

NO physician worth their weight would give some stupid quote like that. Sure they would say, “yes, this appears to have been brewing for a while”…but come on!! More media to be digested by the UFC addicts. Well guess what, now he has had a partial colectomy, his ability to EVER perform to his so-called “potential” will always be compromised…so I guess we will never know. More excuses.

by DocWagner on Nov 24, 2009 6:26 AM EST reply actions

Hmm random number is kinda foolish to say but im pretty sure they mean his body was only running at half speed. Someone stated above that if he had this problem training. diet, and life as a whole was affected. If brock comes back and is able to train fully without the belly aches and appearent pain. Also eating certan things must have been killer on his stomach. So yeah the quote of him only fighting at 60% is kind of like a street fighter anaolgy where the fight has 40% health taken away but his body could be running at 60%.
