So Kimbo isn’t coming back to win the whole show, is he?

ha

we can say goodbye about the hopes of seeing him making a come back on the show. I wonder if they will still promote the idea of a possible return, my guess is they will.

I think they’ll start advertising for the TUF 10 Finale and announce Kimbo on the fight card in the commercials come wednesday. I mean its a few weeks out so its makes sense for them to hype a Kimbo fight.

It’ll be good to see Houston Alexander get another win in the UFC.

Pretty likely

But Houston isn’t without his faults, and I wouldn’t shit the bed if Kimbo pulled off the improbable victory.

That might be the weakest, most half-ass straight punch to ever take a man down.

That straight punch to the face was to the back of the head.

Which one? The one that caught him on the button and hit reset on his brain?

Giving Shogun his props. I had the fight 48-47 Machida but Shogun put up a monumental performance and I am honored to have seen it in person.

by Day Man on Nov 23, 2009 8:59 PM EST up reply actions

Yup

That one, right in the back of the head.

sigh

I was trying to be funny. :(

At the time, Jared Shaw was yelling at the ref that the shot was to the back of the head (meaning the follow ups), so I was trying to be funny by claiming the punch to the face was to the back of the head.

oh well

Houston’s hand speed is going to be the difference. This one will end quickly and violently and I won’t be taking the slower striker.

So you think Kimbo will win?

Houston is vicious in the clinch, but his actual boxing sucks goat balls. Though I very much expect him to leg kick Kimbo a couple times, tie up, then smash that beard.

by Michaelthebox on Nov 23, 2009 5:37 PM EST up reply actions

Houston’s technical boxing might not be great but his hand speed is WAY above anything Kimbo has. I’ll be taking Houston up to like -300.

i agree with this. unlikely, but possible

Thanks

Seems everyone else thought I was picking Kimbo after what I said, when that clearly isn’t the case. Roy Nelson>Houston Alexander.

Well, Im glad Kimbo earned his shot in the UFC. Cant wait to see how improved his is with all that Rampage coaching!

by ryanwk628 on Nov 23, 2009 4:46 PM EST reply actions

I get the joke

but truth be told he’s been training at American Top Team since leaving the show. Maybe there will actually be a noticeable improvement.

by rzor on Nov 23, 2009 4:54 PM EST up reply actions

He was training with them BEFORE the show as well, and with Bas Rutten. He performed sweeps on Thompson when he fought him on EliteXC. Its not like he knew nothing when he got on the show, its just tough to teach someone all aspects of MMA when they are in their mid 30’s with no martial arts background.

by MMASuPreMaCy on Nov 23, 2009 5:00 PM EST up reply actions

sweeps on Thompson ain’t exactly sweeps on Nogueria…

by Anthony Pace on Nov 23, 2009 5:03 PM EST up reply actions

Fortunately for Kimbo

he’ll only need to sweep Houston. Fortunately for Houston, he’ll only need to clean off beard hairs from his knees after the fight.

I hope no one is mentioning Thompson, Houston, or Kimbo in the same sentence with Nog. =)

You just did!

But is Mitrione fighting? Isn’t kimbo coming back? is he or isnt he is he or isnt he?

by IRodC on Nov 23, 2009 5:07 PM EST reply actions

I could tell you

but then what would be the fun in that. There are spoilers all over the interwebs. My stepson trains with one of the guys from the show and he spilled his guts about Kimbo.

by rzor on Nov 23, 2009 5:17 PM EST up reply actions

Kimbo is fighting Houston AND the other finalist from the show. First time in TUF history!

Giving Shogun his props. I had the fight 48-47 Machida but Shogun put up a monumental performance and I am honored to have seen it in person.

by Day Man on Nov 23, 2009 5:58 PM EST up reply actions

That would explain Shane McMahons role.

I got Houstan taking this

by being better, faster and balder.

I can see Kimbo going for a takedown, and surprisingly able to put Houson on his back!

but kimbo has the advantage in chest hair, i think that cancels out the baldness factor.

by Phildo on Nov 23, 2009 6:58 PM EST up reply actions

oooh

Excellent point, I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll just have to go with better and faster :)

I would laugh so god damn hard if Kimbo ends up in the finals. That would be a nice bit of irony.

You mean semi-finals? He can’t be in the finals if he’s fighting Houston.

wait....

did I miss something? who is Kimbo Slice?
