UPDATE: It's (99%) on: Machida / Rua II on May 1st
Tweeted not that long ago, Machida has confirmed a Saturday, May 1st date will be his rematch against Mauricio "Shogun" Hua. We've got the when, now all we need to know is where; any takers on the location for this fight? I had thought the May show was going to be Montreal.
FYI at the moment I'll treat this as 99% confirmed - if I get word from Shogun's manager to verify, I'll post an update.
UPDATE: I asked Shogun's manager if he could confirm and got this response
I guess he's just being appropriately cautious until the UFC make this bout official :)

Good stuff
Confirmations are good, but May is such a long time to wait =-(
Damn injuries and surgeries and recoveries.

Yep, it is going to happen in Montreal.
I think mmaweekly made a story on it a few days ago.. They said it was confirmed. :)
Yay!
Will be very interesting to see if Machida can change his style enough to beat Shogun this time (legitimately), or if Shogun just owns him.
I look forward to this one very much – much more than the last one when I assumed Shogun would be DOA.

Think of it as March 32nd homie.
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
off topic. who’s the girl in your avatar… is she like the official mma groupie? I see her all over the place and all that comes to my mind is “why”?
That’s Tracy Lee of Tracy Lee Photography. Nice rack, bout it.

I expected Chuck would’ve been the one to break that…

May 1 is also the date being thrown around for Mayweather-Pacquiao… Do y’all think Dana would want to go head to head against “boxing” if those were the terms? UFC Lightheavyweight rematch vs boxing’s PFP greatest?

If only they could get a GSP match on that same card
Firefrankwren.com: It's gonna happen this offseason
Why? GSP is gonna fight in February, we dont need to hold out our champs any longer than possible once they get healthy.

If he wins easily in February, what do you think the chances are that he will want to fight on a Montreal card in May? Pretty high in my opinion.
Guillotine.
No chance in hell he would want to fight in his home town???
You saw the place when he fought Serra there. Fucking crazy.

I would like to see Shogun
take the extra time to pack on some muscle, and work on his boxing/ wrestling. If he could add some lean mass/ explosive power, and improve on his boxing (he nailed Lyoto with a few flush counters that would’ve knocked him cold if he had more power in his hands) and wrestling (if he’d finished some of those takedowns, he really could’ve had a field day with his submission & GnP game), I think he could emphatically win the rematch.
Rua needs to take advantage of Machida’s hand injury/ down time, and use this time to get ahead of the game.

Awesome
I’m glad that this is happening. Shogun will take this again. I’d like to share a quote from the jackasses respectable chaps over at Fightlinker explaing how to beat Machida, “You take that sissy ass Karate stance, and you KICK THE FUCK OUT OF IT!!!”.

@deowade
Well, they are right about how to beat Machida – he relies on quickness and leaping attacks. If you take his legs away, he can’t evade and he can’ t leap. You’ve taken away his greatest strength.

As Kyle Maynard can tell you, legs are important in MMA.

Just right IMO
That fight honestly convinced me that he should NEVER fight MMA again. Grappling, fine, no problem- but when striking becomes involved, he becomes a liability.

Uh, why May 1st?
Just push it back a week. I don’t care how much bluster Dana whips up about boxing being on the decline, Zuffa would have to be one big bucket of stupid trying to go head-to-head with a potential Mayweather/Pacquiao fight.
