Corey Hill fights tonight at Unconquered 1: November Reign

The rumored fight is Corey Hill (2-2) vs. Dave Zitnick (0-1). I hope Corey isn't rushing things.

Can’t he just work a different job for a few more months to make the money? He is taking a huge gamble here for probably a terrible paycheck.

His leg snapped like a twig, probably in the top 3 for worst MMA related injury in history, I personally think he should wait another 6 months before he fights again.

It's not that easy.....

He has a family and he has to find time to train and do rehab. He probably doesn’t have enough time to work a 40 hour work week and some **** job and still continue his MMA career.

It is a terrible situation to be in. I have no idea what his wife does but she has to be great for supporting him and his career.

He rushed his rehab.

This won’t end well.

Yeah, this is really dumb on his part. If it’s a matter of money, he should be trying to find other work instead of rushing back into the ring.

He was indefinitely suspended by the AC when he broke his leg, so some doctor must have made the decision that he is ok to get back to training and back to fighting.

Corey Hill Returns

Here’s what’s not going to happen:

He’s not going to throw that kick again.

His opponent’s strategy? Probably something involving leg kicks.

Honestly, I probably wouldn’t make a very good fighter because I would feel bad about using leg kicks on him in his first fight back.

Rumored opponent? The fight is happening today and we’re in a “rumored” opponent status?

So what's the deal

Is he out of the UFC, or is he getting a deal like Alexander did?

by Shaun32887 on Nov 20, 2009 2:09 PM EST reply actions

He is still in the UFC...

I assume they’re just letting him test out the leg

Nothing lasts forever, even Corey Hill’s leg.

That's a really good point

The psychological damage he has to have from that injury is going to be really hard to overcome. I don’t think he will use it much either, unless he spends a significant amount of time training muay thai specifically to increase the leg strength. Even then, he still might not want to.

I think the GIF/replays psychologically damaged me from kicking, so I can only imagine what it has done to him.

What's the fight weight at?

Please be at 170. If he rehabbed right they would’ve asked him to gain more mass for stability.

He has such a significant reach advantage at lightweight.

There is no reason for him to kick. I hope he never does.

There are TWO different Corey Hills in MMA

…and their records are extremely similar. Cory Hill (1-2) was typoed on a fight card about a year ago and many people thought it was our thin amigo. Can someone check on this to confirm it’s the Zuffa employed CorEy Hill (2-2)?

Well, if you look at the promo poster at the top of the article, his picture is right there. Plus there’s the caption “Rising UFC Star” underneath his photo.

Reports from UG members in attendance state that Corey Hill did NOT fight on the card.

Sounds like a case of the old ‘bait and switch’ being run by the promoter.
