Rumor pt 2 – I buy it
Rumor pt 1 – God, I hope not.

If rumor number 2 is true, man do they play favorites in the WEC!

Well, wasn’t it obvious when Faber only had to beat Jens Pulver for his second shot at Mike Brown. Too bad Faber will get wrecked by Aldo.
I think Faber matches up better against Aldo than Brown did.
Speed kills, Faber is at least as fast as Aldo (maybe not as much power) but he won’t be slugging slower hands like Brown does. I think that Aldo and Faber should be much closer due to their styles.

It will be closer
But Faber will still get shutdown.

Faber is not as fast as Aldo, Anderson Silva might be the only mma fighter as fast as Aldo.

Yea, the number 2 fighter in a division getting a title shot after beating a top 10 guy is a disgrace.

He probably will be 3 when the new rankings come out but that doesn’t change anything, because Mike Brown will be number 2 and he doesn’t deserve an immediate rematch.

I agree I just think it’s pretty clear Faber is only the third best 145er right now.
by ufc4 on Nov 20, 2009 11:37 AM EST via mobile up reply actions
I just go by the metarankings, yes, he’s probably third, but my opinion is no better than everyone else’s so I just use those when i need to discuss rankings

Well see that’s the difference my opinion IS better than everyone else’s. :)

I’ve seen several people across a few sites say they hope the Tito/Chuck thing isn’t true. Why not? We don’t want champions out of action for the whole time it takes to film, we don’t want young stars stalling their development by doing the show, now we don’t want old guys who can’t contend but are good TV personalities doing it either?
TUF isn’t going away…knowing that…Tito/Chuck seems like a perfectly fine pairing.

I agree I thought GSP/Hardy was the worst idea ever for TuF coaches. Not that GSP is a bad coach but he has been off.
I think this fits with Dana not wanting Chuck actually fighting, Chuck wanting to be in the UFC doing something involving fighting and Tito just wanting to be on TV, so everyone wins.
GSP is a bad choice for TUF because he’s boring. I don’t want to listen to “beating Dan Hardy at duck duck goose in the coaches challenge will be the biggest challenge of my career.”

I don't know what you're talking about
I absolutely would want to hear that.
It certainly would be more entertaining than a season full of embarrassingly gassed fighters and coaches that spend more time mouthing off than coaching.

All I got to ask is: what was left unanswered in their first two fights? Do we need to know if Chuck can beat him at 40? And if Tito wins does that mean he proved he was the better fighter? If we are going to do legends how about Tito/Randy? Randy/Cro Cop? Hughes/Gracie? Wanderlie/Liddell? Coleman/stairmaster?

The questions that matter, especially when considering Chuck are “will people watch TUF” and “will people buy this PPV”

Chuck on TUF? Yes. Tito on TUF? Yes. Chuck against Tito? Hell no. In the Empire Strikes Back, If the rebels had beaten the empire, Luke had defeated Vader, and Han Solo had killed Boba Fett would we have needed a Return of the Jedi?
This fight doesn’t hurt anyone and it will sell. You may not want to see it, but plenty of people will shell out the 50 bucks to see it and be entertained. It doesn’t screw up any divisions, it will sell, it gives two guys a real good payday, I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t do the fight.

Agreed, there might be a couple other pairings that I’d prefer but this is much, much better than holding out GSP or something like that.

I Agree....
That choice is great. Neither of them should be in title contention and they both are very popular. It also gives people who hate Tito something to look forward to, the thought of him getting knocked out by Liddell.
I’m tired of champions being on the show, or people fighting for a title shot. It slows everything down and isn’t needed. I could see doing it if someone was going to be out for surgery for awhile, though.
YAY!
This should be a good season of tuf, hope they do super-heavyweights this time. :)

dear god...

I don’t think he’s one of Team Punishment’s main trainers. I think?
I like both of these
Now if Faber wins in Jan, put him vs Aldo on a UFC card.
I'm convinced that his jaw is made of some sort of alloy.
But I see Faber taking this one by Una. Dec.

While Chuck’s still going to beat Tito, the series should be ten kinds of awesome.
