What weight class will this be fought under? Are you ready to fight at that weight?

Roxanne: It will be at 145 lbs. Which is funny because I have been trying to unsuccessfully diet for months now. It turned out to be a good thing to be a little heavier than my usual fight-weight. I’m ready for anything!

Without giving away too much, what is the game plan for Coenen?

Roxanne: My plan is this: punch her. In the face. And try out my new special move: su-pa-tobi-hiza-bakku-fisuto.

Down to Earth, nerdy humor, and one of the best female mix martial artists on the planet. What’s there not to like? I’ll be rooting for her on the 7th.

Roxy is awesome.

Does her own thing and stays upbeat and happy. Doesn’t crap on girls who get fights based on their looks. Doesn’t mock girls with hatchet faces and voices an octave too low. Just a refreshing down-to-earth fighter who doesn’t feel the need to lash out at others in order to feel good about herself. That is something of a rarity in women’s MMA.

Strikeforce is really bring in the best female talent now. Its really getting exciting to see the elite women fighters starting to come together under the same organization

Someone said it the other day and I agree with them … this reminds me of watching the WEC beef up their BW & FW divisions immediately after the Zuffa purchase. For a while there, it seemed like they were signing everybody.
