The fact that Gomi and Hiroshi Izumi are the same height does not bode well for Izumi’s career at 205.

Izumi is at 205? He looks like he’s a WW at most..

It’s a Japanese custom to fight in the wrong weight class.

I always thought Gomi was a pretty good sized lightweight… Is Thomson really that much bigger than him?

That's what I was gonna say

He looks a lot bigger, but then I thought about the fact that Thompson probably isn’t anywhere close to fighting weight right now.

JT is a pretty big LW.

I've actually thought

for a while that Gomi would do better @ FW. Kitaoka was much bigger than him, and just look at Thomson- I mean, JT’s a big 155er, but still- he has a good 15 lbs. and 2-3 inches on Gomi.

Kitaoka’s also huge, he doesn’t look any smaller now than he did at welter. Gomi probably doesn’t cut any weight like a lot of Japanese fighters.

An interesting sidenote: would AKA train with someone they thought JT would be fighting? It might be that they know he isn’t going to Strikeforce or that they feel they can learn more about Gomi than Gomi can learn about Josh (obviously true).
