UFC Fight Night 20 Made Official, Three Bouts Announced
The UFC has officially announced UFN 20, which will take place on January 11th at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, and will be broadcast live on Spike TV.
The main event will pit lightweight contenders Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz against one another in a rematch of sorts, as Diaz submitted Maynard in the semifinals of the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter (although that fight does not count for either fighter's official record). Another lightweight bout will serve as the co-main event, with TUF Season Eight winner Efrain Escudero, who made a statement in his knockout victory over Cole Miller at UFC 103, facing fellow undefeated prospect and Xtreme Couture member Evan Dunham, who's fresh off an upset decision victory over Marcus Aurelio at UFC 102.
Also confirmed for the main card is a middleweight scrap between Aaron Simpson and Tom Lawlor. Tickets for the event go on sale on Saturday 11/21, with pre-sales for Fight Club and Newsletter subscribers on 11/19 and 11/20 respectively.
UFC President Dana White added:
“The lightweight division is one of the most talent-rich in the UFC, and this card is a prime example of that,” said UFC President Dana White. “Maynard and Diaz are two top contenders with a history between them, and this is one of those fights that could be career-changing for the winner. The stakes are just as high in the Escudero-Dunham fight, as both of these guys are looking to make the jump from prospect to contender.”
UFN 20 Rumored Card:
Gray Maynard vs. Nate Diaz*
Efrain Escudero vs. Evan Dunham*
Aaron Simpson vs. Tom Lawlor*
Jeremy Stephens vs. Nik Lentz
Kyle Bradley vs. Rafael Dos Anjos
Ricky Story vs. Jesse Lennox
Rory MacDonald vs. Mike Guymon
Chris Leben vs. Jay Silva
Tim Credeur vs. Mike Massenzio
Nick Catone vs. Steve Steinbeiss
* officially announced

So if Gray wins is he getting the next title shot?
What happens if Nate Diaz wins? Lets not forgot he lost to Guida and Stevenson not too long ago.
Where are Tyson Griffin and Frankie Edgar in the picture?
I understand why Maynard is at the front of the line and letting him avenge his TUF loss…but why is Edgar fighting Matt Veach at the TUF finale?
Edgar is a top 10 LW in the UFC and just had huge wins over Sherk and Franca. Veach’s lone UFC win was a questionable stoppage against Matt Grice. Seems like they are kind of screwing Edgar.

Pellegrino was his original opponent, but got injured,
and Veach was the only one they had available to step in. I guess Edgar would rather just fight someone, then stay on the sidelines and wait for top competition.
Josh Koscheck Syndrome – although it’s certainly risky (i.e., Paulo Thiago)
The Minority
I’m probably in the minority on this one, but I’m really looking forward to Efrain Escudero v. Evan Dunham.

You shouldn't
be in the minority. That’s a great match up.

I became a big Dunham fan when he knocked out Per Eklund,
and an even bigger fan when he he had his way with Aurelio for most of their fight.
I like Efrain, he won by KO when he had the flu.
Keep firing Assholes!
The only thing Fishbob does consistently is dissapoint.
Did he have the flu when he fought Cole Miller? I didn’t know that. I just knew that it was a good challenge for him and he won impressively.
As for Dunham, I’m with Scott on this. He’s an Xtreme Couture guy who clobbered Per Eklund and beat Marcus Aurelio. He’s on the come, for sure.

I want to see Jay Silva on the main card
It will also be the last time we ever see Chris Leben in the UFC when Silva beats him senseless.
Fire Bruce DeHaven.
Ya. This may be the end of Chris Leben in the UFC if he loses. He would be the first long-timer TUF 1 fighters to get cut.

I don’t think it will happen. I think he’s one of the “UFC for Life” guys.
I mean, if you were going to cut him, wouldn’t you do so after he lost a fight in which he tested positive for steroids?

I think since it was a main event and he likely takes the lowest pay based on number of matches he has had in the UFC, he will be last in line to be cut. He still has value after a lose because he sells out in every fight. And he doesn’t have the leverage to ask for a ton of money since he is so inconsistent and loses.
i like gray maynard to be nate diaz and i just want to see if chris lebon has his tattoo on his back completed
mac danzig might be cut before lebon. danzig has three losses in a row and one of them was embarrassing.
yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.
