The UFC has officially announced UFN 20, which will take place on January 11th at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, and will be broadcast live on Spike TV.

The main event will pit lightweight contenders Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz against one another in a rematch of sorts, as Diaz submitted Maynard in the semifinals of the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter (although that fight does not count for either fighter's official record).  Another lightweight bout will serve as the co-main event, with TUF Season Eight winner Efrain Escudero, who made a statement in his knockout victory over Cole Miller at UFC 103, facing fellow undefeated prospect and Xtreme Couture member Evan Dunham, who's fresh off an upset decision victory over Marcus Aurelio at UFC 102.

Also confirmed for the main card is a middleweight scrap between Aaron Simpson and Tom Lawlor.  Tickets for the event go on sale on Saturday 11/21, with pre-sales for Fight Club and Newsletter subscribers on 11/19 and 11/20 respectively.

UFC President Dana White added:

“The lightweight division is one of the most talent-rich in the UFC, and this card is a prime example of that,” said UFC President Dana White. “Maynard and Diaz are two top contenders with a history between them, and this is one of those fights that could be career-changing for the winner. The stakes are just as high in the Escudero-Dunham fight, as both of these guys are looking to make the jump from prospect to contender.”
