Cotewin

Patrick Cote posts on his facebook page that he'll finally return to UFC action in April, and wants to face a certain British middleweight in his return bout:

Bisping

would have to pull a top control special to beat Cote IMO, because he matches up similar to Mike as Hendo did; epic chin, and ridiculous power in his hands. Bisping could give 4 shots for every 1 he took, and that ratio still wouldn’t favor him.

Mike got dropped by a right from Kang, even after the horrific right he took from Hendo. The only problem with trying a GnP centric strategy is that Cote has very stout takedown defense, and Bisping very well could tire himself out in search of a takedown.

I'd love to see this fight happen

on what’s recently become the UFC’s annual April visit to Montreal. Put GSP vs. Hardy in the headlining slot, and then this, and you have the makings of an interesting Canada vs. UK-themed card that the Montreal crowd would eat up.

GSP vs Hardy + Bisping vs Cote in Montreal…

Yea, I think Bisping is the better overall fighter, But

Matchup wise, I think this favors Cote.. Unless he can Leben his way to victory, or stop/control him on the ground, (both of which is very hard to do against cote), we might see him get stopped again..

Weird

Nothing against Bisping, but Cote just fought for the title against Anderson Silva, and now he’s calling out Bisping?

Isn’t that a HUGE step down?

Close to a year and a half off due to a serious injury?

He’d be foolish to call out someone like Anderson or Nate. He needs to shake the rust off, and Bisping would be a good test.
