randy couture

it's a horrible day when one of my favorites is starting to show his age! ido believe he won the fight only because brandon did nothing but 2 kicks & a knee! it looked like vera could have finished the fight a couple of times if he could start pulling the trigger again but thats another story. brandon used to be an exciting fighter. the real story here is randy,i for one don't want to see him become a test for everyone & i don't think he will get back into title contention.

this is where dana & scott coker come into it. dana is always saying he loves these guys but only if they're loyal to the ufc. dana only loves dana ! randy has a dream so why not give it to him? at most he has a couple of fights left in him, here is a chance to show your human. trade him for brett rogers!! it's a win win sitaution for dana & scott but couture gets what he needs before retirement, fedor.
more people know brett rogers than the rest of the ufc heavywieghts other than randy or brock. strikeforce would get a couple of big fights out of it. the ufc people could make a public relations dream out of it. we did it all for randy!!   if lesnar is really sick & i hope not but juice is not good for health. just think brett vs carwin or lesnar, mir or whom ever !

but this about randy, he gets fedor!!!!!  isn't that what every one wants

I think you might have a decent idea here but this just isn’t readable, if you spend the time to type all this out why not even bother to capitalize anything?

dont know how much the fedor fight really matters to randy anymore. his current deal with the ufc is pretty big, money wise, isnt it? plus, i’d hazard a guess that he knows he wouldn’t win it at this point.

Seriously?

I dont think you can trade fighters. Both Randy and Brett would have to come to agreements on a new contract before this could happen. I also dont think Dana wants Rogers. He got beat by Fedor and is not the proven draw that Randy is.

If I was Strikeforce I wouldnt want this deal. It’s trading away future talent for one good payday. It would be like trading Mousasi for Liddell. Yes Liddell is the bigger star now just like Couture is but you dont know how many fights either has left in them.

Finally Fedor vs. Randy is not the fight anymore Fedor vs. Brock is. Randy has lost 2 and is coming off a controversial win over Vera. It would make Strikeforce that 1 giant payday but then what?

Really

I believe they could it if they wanted to. Dana would take Rogers in a second! How many more times are you going to pay to watch Randy fight like that ? Its not the greatest deal for Strikeforce but it would be a giant payday & nobody would stop talking about it. I still think Couture vs Fedor is the fight ! If Lesnar is still around after so be it . At least the UFC & Strikeforce would be talking ! Randy could retire with the fight he really wants.

Rogers is a noboby why in the world would Dana even consider trading one of his most popular and respected fighters for a guy brings nothing to the UFC that’s insane.

I feel like a grammar nazi or something,

but sheesh man, this is a fan post, not a status update of twitter or Facebook. A few capital letters and a lot less exclamation points would make this infinitely better.

As it pertains to your idea, pretty much not happening. Couture had one boring/less than stellar fight in his last three. He’s not the first and he won’t be the last guy to have a less that crowd pleasing performance. He’s still making the UFC buckets of money and is all but assured a cushy retirement package. Why give that up for a fight he knows he probably can’t win now. A year ago maybe? Right after he beat Sylvia, even better. But now? Let him get his Tito/Chuck/Colemna/Forest/throw him a loser leaves town with Silva or Machida and let him close out his fighting days in the UFC.

Rogers may arguably be more well known than some of the UFC heavies, but he was on the receiving end of a hell of a knock out. Why would Dana want the guy that couldn’t beat the guy that he doesn’t think is the best heavyweight when he has three or more guys he said would work Rogers? As Raker said, that’s insane. Trade Couture, who even in defeat is beloved, for an unknown just based on one set of t.v. ratings. And that’s Dana’s side. You think Coker really wants to give away the guy that gave Fedor all he could handle, a guy he can build his division around once Fedor leaves, for a guy that has maybe four quality performances left in him?
