Bloody Elbow Betting Game: UFC 105 Results

~ UFC 105 Camp Results ~

Mmaplayground_camp_statistics_ufc_105_medium

While that was definitely not our best event, there is still the chance for us to finish out the season strong. UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin will be the next of the final three events. And that will be, of course, next Saturday. I have to admit that Fightlinker is not doing as poorly as I had initially guessed. Perhaps they will increase their average wager earnings to $15.11 next card. Can't wait until they play for a full season when the smack talk really counts.

And our discussion of competition brings us to MMA4Real and the ethics of a car wreck: does one drive by and spectate silently or is there an obligation to stay and call for help?

Brooklynbadass (DJ Soma) was the top earner from team Bloody Elbow with $13,603 earned, most of it coming off a straight bet on Dan Hardy. That is good for 16th place out of 4376 on the event. Brooklynbadass is in 3rd place in camp BE after 7 events with a total of $40,637. Sandbox23 is in first with $89,866.

As for points earned off correct fight predictions, termin8r199 scored the most from our camp with 71. He is in 5th place in camp BE after 7 events with 401 total points. Phantasma475 is holding on to first with 448 total points. Full results are in the extended entry.

Reminder on prizes.

Important: If you wish to join the BE betting camp, send me a message on MMA Playground with your BE user name or leave a comment in this thread so I can send you an invite. Please make sure your MMA Playground login name is the same as your BE name or as close as possible so we can give you the proper credit.

I had a Dan Hardy - Vera parlay and a straight up bet on Vera..

after the mainevent ended, I was confident that my 4k had turned into 15k++ until………

Same here, except I had brown too in my parlay, it was 10k guaranteed until reality slapped me in the face. Really frustrating.

That's what happens when you're crazy biased.

Biased because I didn't think Randy can take Vera down easily, or be able to take hard shots anymore?

wasn’t that what happened? I am biased in a way that I will always root for him, but those never get in the way of analyzing or predicting a fight.

I got the Hardy fight right too you know. Swick has better wrestling, but he only wants to bang anyway. I think Dan would beat him standing, so I picked him too. And I was right again.. It just happened that the judges didn’t agree with what I, and most people saw..

When he got mount on the third, I was like, "okay, hurting Randy and getting the mount this round will weigh more than “Kenny florian-ing him in the cage” since neither did much damage, but Vera had a dominant position.

I was wrong… Doesn’t mean my “biases” get in the way of analyzing a fight.

swick didn't want to bang. he just couldn't take hardy down

dan hardy, you have a new fan. i still can’t see him doing anything against GSP. It’s just a fight to sell tickets.

I know. But that's how I broke down the fight.

If swick stands like he usually does, he’ll lose. Swicks gameplan wasn’t exactly the same as I predicted, but still ended the same way. :)

I knew that coming in, I was really impressed with his chin..

He was taking those shots as if it was nothing.. He kept grinning like “you can’t hurt me”..

I didn’t have a chance to do my wagers but if I did it would probably involve losing a lot of money on Vera.

Top 10 in the money for the event! Didn’t make my picks…but made my bets

8th and 12th, not too bad. Made a big bet on Bisping which worked out, the odds just seemed off to me on that one, seemed like everyone was remembering his last fight against one of the two or three best in the world at 185 instead of all the ones before it where his only other loss ever was to Rashad Evans. I don’t think Bisping is a championship caliber fighter but he is definitely a top 5-10 guy.

I picked bisping too, but I was afraid to bet on him cause he (or his chin) couldve been much weaker

After taking that big a punch from Hendo.

Sweet! Top ten in both wagers and points! That’s pretty damned good considering I was really uncomfortable with this card and only bet $700.

by thekiltedwonder on Nov 15, 2009 2:41 PM EST reply actions

Woohoo nearly quadrupled my money :) My Brown, Bisping, Couture parlay paid off big time, as did the considerable amount I put on Hardy.

by brad23 on Nov 15, 2009 3:28 PM EST reply actions

Jared Hamman cost me $14,000 in just 41 seconds!

Killed my parlay and straight bet. Oh well 3 more events to go. Got all $89k on Brian Foster at +710!!!

Sorry BE family

I got cocky and put to much on my parlay.. Money management is the key to success in gambling, fake cash or real….
