Bisping could be a mental mess at UFC 105

Lets' be honest, there is a real chance that Michael Bisping could be a mental mess at UFC 105.  His loss to Dan Henderson was the worst of his career!

Here is a link that really breaks this down!

Although Bisping should be the huge favorite in this fight, a lot of people aren't sold!

Michael Bisping is the best British UFC fighter ever!  Although that could hold a lot of weight, it truly doesn’t.  The Count is looking to rebound from the most devastating loss of his career!  Boxing 101, don’t circle into the power hand of your opponent…Bisping did it and was violently introduced to the power of Dan Henderson.  It will be interesting to see the affect of that fight on the mental game of Bisping.

Throughout his career The Count has always seemed to beat the guys that he was supposed too.  At the same time, he has never truly been able to secure that career changing win.

His premier win since joining the UFC is against Matt Hamill (insert random joke here).  Haha, very funny, nice joke…  I agree, I don’t think he really beat Hamill either.

Although Bisping should be the huge favorite in this fight

Care to explain why he should be? As far as I see it most people think Kang has a better all around skill set than Bisping, and he has much more experience, against a better quality of opponent. I don’t really see anything that would suggest Bisping should be the favourite apart from it’s in his home country, which doesn’t outweigh any of the above.

kang is a small favorite in the reno/lake tahoe area.

could be a pick em by fight-time only b/c most people in the general public do not know who dennis kang is. they will just remember michael bisping from tuf show.

But he also might not be a mental mess...

That title is really misleading. Sure, you can question how he’ll bounce back from a knockout loss, but the link concludes he might be a mental mess from a lot of premises that are purely speculative. Faulty premises = faulty conclusion.

Person sees a tiger
Person wants to play with tiger
Person thinks running away from tiger is the best way to get the tiger to come and play
Conclusion = The best idea is to run away from tiger

Faulty premises, correct conclusion =-P

lol some people rebound and come prepared…Others go on Rampage’s in trucks with their face on the door…

Your right, he may be ready, but he could just as easily not be….

This article needs more exclamation marks.

Seriously, I know you’re trying to hype your site but the silly titles and “Monster truck rally! Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!” carnival barking is just weird.

Also – people come back from losses all the time.

I agree with this post...

First off; Yes, people do come back from loses. In fact, loses at times, have the ability to bring out the best in someone. GSP is the perfect example bouncing back, and being even more dominant than before. In his loss to Matt Hughes in their first meeting, GSP learned to dictate the pace and become even more aggressive. He came back and destroyed anyone who they put in front of him. Then came the loss to Matt Serra by KO. Then GSP bounces back, and now, he is more sound and intelligent than before.

Now, with that being said, GSP lost by KO, but it wasn’t a devastating KO like Hendo gave Bisping. GSP got caught, and overwhelmed. He got rocked, but he didn’t go unconcious. Bisping was literally Knocked Out Cold. The reason I support this post is because a KO like that has the potential to completely change a fighter.

We see it in boxing all the time. Sometimes, after devastating KO’s…a fighter is never the same. In MMA, that outcome is even more likely. Why? Because in Boxing, all the fighters worry about is the punching aspect of it. In MMA, you can get beat in a variety of ways.

Not only did Bisping lose, but he lost in a way that he never did before. And aside from being KO’d for the first time in his career, he did everything wrong in that fight and he paid the price for it. That KO is going to be lingering in the back of his mind, and though he doesn’t admit it now, but when he gets in the cage….thoughts and flashbacks could resurface. The last thing you want to be in a MMA fight is extremely hesitant, gun shy, and worried. When you think too much while fighting, it’s a recipe for disaster.

I agree…..Bisping could enter a mental mess in this match. The only way we’ll find out is come fight time. If he seems hesitant, and gun shy….it’s over for him. He’s always been an “Outside” fighter. He hits, and moves, and from time to time, he’s engaged a little on the inside. Now, after that KO….he might never wanna close the distance again. Which could mean either two things; He becomes more of a ground fighter, which I don’t see happening, or, he’ll be extremely boring…..which is a good possibility.

I tbink he will be fine. Look at Andrei Arlovki when he went gunshy. His style was to go in and KO his opponents violently and quickly, as he came close to doing in the second Sylvia fight before he got caught. He became gunshy and afraid to engage due to a loss, for a few fights anyway. Bisping however, is sort of like a stick and move fighter. He has less than devastating power so he moves in and out and tries to wear opponents down with a heavy volume of punches. I can’t see him changing that tactic because he doesn’t put himself in a whole lot of riek, Kang has heavy hands but not like Hendo. So overall I think Bisping will be fine and the loss will not affect him
