It'd better be free.

Dunno who’d pay for this, since Brits get it free on ESPN.

Australia is expected to pay for every numbered UFC, and this one is being aired on a six-day delay on top of that.

Sad thing is I’d have still paid for it if they were showing it live but the idea of airing two events on PPV on the same day is apparently too much to handle in this country so we’re only getting Pacman vs Cotto live.

by rabrown on Nov 13, 2009 12:45 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, I make an effort to pay for every UFC card…until they throw it on nearly a weeks delay or call it UFC 89: BIsping vs. Leben. If you guys get it for free…so should we.

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

Did anyone else watch the 105 Countdown? Bisping and his trainers are watching footage on Kang and one of them noted Kang was moving the wrong way against a southpaw. Bisping paused for a second and then started joking that you’d have to be a complete idiot to move the wrong way in a fight.

If he could protect his chin he’s got a great chance to win this fight.

I dont really know why some people are hating on this card, I think there are some real entertaining fights here probably mores so then on most PPV.

by nsiegel on Nov 13, 2009 12:22 PM EST reply actions

No kidding.

Not to mention it’s free. It’s the typical MMA elitist snobbery. No matter what they say, they’ll be tuning to watch, though perhaps with arms crossed and a sneer on their face.

Lucky for Canadians, we get to see it live at 3PM EST.

by dv8shun on Nov 13, 2009 12:33 PM EST up reply actions

While I’m excited about the event…can we quit pretending that every MMA fan must like every card…especially if it is free. Some events aren’t going to capture some people’s attention…and this is fine.

I imagine it’s just backlash against the people who feel they need to come to a post like this, specifically designed to showcase and generate interest in an upcoming event, and publicly complain while turning up their noses.

i agree…this card has some great match-making top to bottom. great mesh of styles that should make for exciting fights. the biggest names dont always make for good cards.

the entire main card is made of fights that are too close to call. looking forward to this card way more than the last ppv and a number of others scattered threw 2009.

Swick sure looks lanky

But those are some killer abs.

And is Paul Taylor just goofing around with that pose? Or is he being 100% serious? Either way, it’s hilarious.

by dv8shun on Nov 13, 2009 1:37 PM EST reply actions

I had the opportunity to actually admire a training session of the AKA guys not too long ago and Mike Swick although the least smothering of the bunch has some grueling workouts. I think Hardy is B level and Swick is B+. With that said I hope Swick Wins and is allowed to fight once more maybe in February. Which could set up a May match vs GSP. I dont think Swick is ready for GSP wrestling as it is worlds different from Kos and Fitch.

My gut tells me this is a card the elitists are thumbing their noses at but it has the potential to turn into an incredible card.
Swick 9-1 in the UFC vs Hardy should be an explosive war.
Couture vs Vera – We get a free Randy fight? And Vera might actually show up?
Kang vs Bisping – Kang gets it together or Bisping returns as the most hated man in mma.
Brown vs Wilks – I like Wilks but I think BEs own might take it.

This card has more talent top to bottom than the recent Strikeforce card. Can wait for this FREE card!

I completely agree. Look at the odds on every fight and compare it to the last Strikeforce card. Nearly every fight is a pick em. And look at the hype the Strikeforce card got, with every fight having a clear clear favourite, even though both cards are pretty much free.
