Scott Coker offers potential opponents for Jake Shields:
After newly crowned middleweight champion Jake Shields admitted Saturday that he thinks he’s a stronger fighter at 170 pounds and might go back down there, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker didn’t bat an eyelash.
"That’s really up to Jake," said Coker. "We’ll have that conversation, but at 185, we have a lot of great guys to make fights."
185 - Winner of Ronaldo Jacare Souza vs. Matt Lindland
170 - Marius Zaromskis, Shinya Aoki and Hayato Sakurai
Shields told Sherdog.com on Saturday that he’d like to follow in the footsteps of former dual-division Pride champion Dan Henderson, and seize Strikeforce’s welterweight crown as well.

Man, if Sakurai tooled him at 170, Shields would tear him up.
Don't believe a word I say, I don't train BJJ.
I blog at TangleBones - you should follow me on Twitter here.
He needs to stop being greedy and let Diaz have one of those titles. You can’t refuse to fight your training partner, then take both belts in the weight classes he fights in
he's not being greedy..
Diaz isn’t in the best terms with showtime (or strikeforce?) at the time being.. and he said if Diaz was going to make a run for the title, he would be at a different weight.

I hope Strikeforce plans on putting Eddie Alvarez in the mix. I thought he was supposed to fight sometime for them soon, i think he could take that belt from Shields and at least force Shields into an exciting fight.
I think Eddie is sticking to Lightweight. He’s also at least somewhat tied up with Bellator.
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam.
I do think if/when Thompson gets by Gilbert, a potential Eddie-Thompson fight will be very good. For that matter a Melendez-Alzarez fight will be very good as well. If i remember correctly Eddie took some time off in September and in October because he wanted to rest after the tournament and he got married. I think i also remember reading he was going to be on Strikeforce card either late this year or early next year and this would not interfere with his Bellator obligations.
