TUF 10: The Ultimate Fighter Live Discussion (Episode 9)

Holy crap, Marcus Jones can move on the ground. A first round armbar submission over Mike Wessel saves Team Rampage from going 0-fer and Quinton Jackson from another round of energy drink fasting.
Post-fight, Rashad Evans had the audacity to invite (former?) Team Rampage fighters to train with his boys. Their mouths said no, but their faces said, "I don't want Rampage to make fun of me."
Dana and the coaches set the quarterfinals bracket at the end of the show. Dana caved to Rampage's demands, allowing Jones to fight Darrill "Titties" Schoonover. Meanwhile, Brandon Schaub gets Jon Madsen, James McSweeney gets Matt Mitrione (a.k.a. Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson), and in tonight's episode season favorite Roy Nelson fights Justin Wren.
How will Team Rashad handle fighting each other? Will Wes Sims torture Mitrione out of the competition, opening up a spot for a hungry Kimbo? Will three round fights kill somebody?
Tune in to find out!

I’m excited for this season to end just so I don’t have to see Pages annoying mug anymore, unless I’m up @ 3:00am and one of his crap movies are on.

If I were Damicio and they let Kimbo back instead of me I’d be mad as hell

i’d be all kinds of pissed.. from the footage we’ve seen already (although it could be out of context) tiki is riding kimbo’s jock real hard. and we all have seen how rampage has been treating kimbo. i expect its a lot worse than the show has shown us.. im fairly certain i wouldve taken rashad up on his offer. at least im a training dummy on a team thats trying to improve its fighters.

The preview just said
if he can’t compete, who gets a chance to come back?
So maybe Kimbo isn’t a shoe in.

That's the unfortunate thing
I would be thrilled if Big Baby won the who thing – except Rampage will take credit when he deserves none.

I believe it’s two rounds so it qualifies as an “exhibition fight”. If it’s an exhibition fight they (NSAC) don’t have to release the results when the fight acutally occurs (e.g. Way ahead of when it and the season airs), therefore not ruining the suspense of who makes the finals. Pretty helpful this year so they can hype “Can Kimbo come back?!?” without us all knowing by looking up the published results.
I believe someone at Sherdog did this before thy switched to the two rounders – anyone?

by kid_eh on Nov 11, 2009 11:32 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
There were two flurries, which took up more than half of the round. Nelson picked him apart slowly, and had the entire round gone that way, I would agree. But Wren landed some solid flurries, and won that in my opinion. That should’ve gone to round 3.
by Charger567 on Nov 12, 2009 12:03 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
In the first round...
Nelson’s punches were mostly picked off by the gloves and arms of Wren. Wren hurt him which is much more important than landing a couple jabs and getting a lot of your offense blocked. The second round was clearly Roy as he was landing regularly.
Roy continues to not impress me..I know that isn’t going to keep him up at night or anything…but still.
