MMA Downunder - CFC 11.

Just got the press release from CFC today and it appears to be all about the main event. Hector Lombard will return to the CFC and defend his middle weight title against Kalib Starnes on the 20th of November in Sydney, Australia. Remember him? Been a while since Starnes bothered anybody over at the Sherdog Figthfinder too. By their records it looks like Starnes hasn't fought this year.

The undercard so far includes:

Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne Vs Willie Moon,

Matt Cain Vs Jade Jordan,

Robert Lisita Vs Tony Ourico

Hugh Cameron Vs Ashley Powell.

I'll update if they send through anymore fight-card details or if I can get their poster to load properly.

You can get tickets at the door or buy online with Ticketek.com.

Say what you want about his bitch-ass ways, Starnes is still a good test for Lombard.

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

nah mate, i think it makes sense. Starnes is a good name for marketing wise for the CFC and brings some international kudos to the title. i’m just wondering where Starnes has been? did he retire or couldn’t get a gig?

He was meant to fight Kala Hose a few months after taking gold in the track meet with Quarry but Hose pulled shennanigans before the fight, and Starnes ended up fighting some no hoper.

Since then…got no idea.

i’ve been a couple times.
time between fights is small. standard of fights is usually good. good production – lighting, sound etc. decent crowd size – only saw one fight and despite what they say it’s never a sell out.
doors open at 6:30 but fights don’t start till after 7.

Yeh i’ve only been to one before and i really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is awesome and the crowd really get into it. Some dodgy looking bastards there as you would expect but you would definitely only find trouble if you went looking for it. My mates and i all really enjoyed the show. As Ronnie said the production and fights are good.

Tickets are like $70 for the base up to $160 for the top of the line tickets.

I am definitely keen to go again but unfortunately i can’t make this one because it’s my one year anniversary the day after and my wife doesn’t agree with me that watching live MMA is actually a really romantic thing to do, haha.

Sorry, he Jason Bourned me.
