He looked great for 15 minutes, if he had more gas he would’ve finished imo. I was impressed most with how easily he passed guard and how dominant from on top he was. For 15 minutes that is.

Why exactly
was the fight a 5- rounder, anyway? I mean, there wasn’t a title on the line, was there?
At any rate, Gomi looked pretty good, he was dominating Hervey from the top and getting the better of the standup for the first 3 rounds. Tony came close to finishing in the 4’th though, if he hadn’t given up position so many times that could’ve constituted a 10-8 round.
Hervey is a good prospect though, and Gomi looked pretty good. I still think that Gomi would be more successful in today’s MMA landscape if he would make the drop to 145, he’s just not big enough for LW anymore. But if he’s gonna stay in Japan, it’d be nice to see him in DREAM against the likes of Aoki/ Kawajiri/ Hansen/ Alvarez/ JZ etc

It’s nice that Gomi remembered he can grapple but his cardio has to be the worst in the division. I’d score the fight a draw with the fourth 10-8 for Hervey.
Is any US promotion really going to be interested in Gomi in 2010? If Dream folds I see him going back to Sengoku.

that third round was redonculous. looks like Gomi spent too much time surfing.
