Poor old Choi...
Get him to ground, and he’s a gonna!

The Super Hulk Tourney was created for Minowaman to win it.

soku should take it IMO..
if gegard was there, I have no doubts that he’d win it all..

I was really looking forward to soko vs gegard

How is Soku going to win? It is common knowledge the weaknesses of Soku. He sucks on the ground badly (compared to most ). He does have sick striking combos but he is well known for gassing after 10 minutes of fighting, Minowaman trains by chassing after horses so you know he has cardio.

what?!?!
somebody explain to me how aoki got rocked and was allowed to recover like the upkick to a standing opponent was illegal?!
by cagefightonacid on Oct 6, 2009 11:38 AM EDT via mobile reply actions 0 recs
On the replay HDNet showed from the reverse angle, you could see that Hansen’s other foot hit Aoki in the groin before the upkick. Aoki starts to fall down, grabbing his junk, and the upkick catches him as he’s falling. So the kick was legal, but the groin strike occurred first.

ok, that makes swnse
it just makes me kinda suspicious, remember when he wasn’t able to continue vs jz? just seems fishy… also did Joe Warren tap?

Yeah, it’s always gonna look suspect, especially with the way Aoki sort of hams it up. I think it was legit though.
Warren definitely tapped. Check 1:08 here.

thanks!
still couldn’t see the tap, but I’m on my phone and I believe it

To me and a few otherswho were watching it kind of looked like it was the side of his leg not his groin ? But I could not see it to well on the replay. Very true though Chris every time something like that happens with Aoki you are just thinking hear we go again even if it lagit or not !

it’s my opinion that this kind of stuff shouldn’t be happening this often with the #2 guy in the world…. this (and the ring) is the only thing that turns me off about japan

I watched this on HDnet, and watching it w/ the Japanese announcers amd
I’ve learned that I can’t stand “the voice” Michael Schivello. He sounds like he constantly has a hot coal shoved up his ass. Man is that guy irritating to listen to.
It sounds so much more enlightend with the Japanese announcers. It was a decent card other than the fact that you had to listent to “the voice” for over 3 hours.

I have leanred to like Michael Schivello now. At first even on K-1 I could not stand him but he and his humor have worn on me over time.On the other hand Its Guy Mezger I can’t stand.

I got back and forth with Schiavello. I appreciate his knowledge and enthusiasm, but he just goes too far sometimes, like when he was freaking out over Sakuraba’s submission on Rubin Williams. It was seriously nothing to get remotely excited about, and Schiavello was screaming about it. I understand that it’s his job to make the action look good, but give me a break.

1 million percent
Schiavello’s fandom and intelligence make me love him, but from afar.

Watching this fight reminds just how embarrased I felt for Hong Man when he had to fight Mirko. It was fucking ridiculous. I actually felt sorry for Hong Man when Cro Cop constantly fucked up Choi’s knees, and then that last one that put him down, you could almost feel his pain through the t.v.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but strikes to the back of the head aren’t legal, right? So what the hell was up with the Kawajiri vs. Manibusan fight?
