Hopefully Scott Coker jumps right on these guys. All 4 have good resumes.
Franca beat Nate Diaz and fought for a UFC title 2 years ago.

Hermes Franca
Franca really embarrassed himself during UFC 103. He showed up overweight, didn’t offer any decent offense . . . I can understand this cut.
Marcus Aurelio can not compete against the solid wrestlers in the UFC LW division. Clay Guida, Tyson Griffin, Gray Maynard, etc.

Was Justin cut or is his contract up? I thought the unofficial UFC policy was they wouldn’t drop you if you hadn’t loss two in a row.

they can drop people coming off 1 loss.

Harsh to cut Franca, though he looked like shit against Griffin so maybe that swung it for them. I thought perhaps he was injured but looks like he was just out of shape, that sort of thing doesn’t look good to the UFC brass
Looking like shit in your last fight + 2-3 in your last 5 = Pink Slip
Unless you’re Stephan Bonnar
Yep, I have Twitter too. Follow me @deowade
LOL at what?
Strikeforce has regularly used Scott Smith as a main event fighter and he makes Bonnar look like Fedor. Bonnar would immediately be a LHW title contender if he went to Strikeforce. Granted, Mousasi would beat him like a rented mule, but that doesn’t change the fact that he would be a HUGE get for Coker.

I hate to say it, but you could be right. :)

Also, showing up something like 9 pounds overweight doesn’t help.

Franca wasn’t part of the “#1 fight in UFC history.”

yeah
he really blew it when he didn’t beat John Howard that was the fight they gave him to pick up a win and he disappointed there.
too bad, he’s a good fighter and seemingly a nice guy.

I loved his debut, where he knocked Fitch’s ass to the mat several times. Wish he could have put together a nice string of wins.

How is this not a surprise?
Franca, Wilson, and Aurelio are all 2-3 in their last 5. McCully maybe a little surprise but he was 2-2 in his UFC fight career.
The UFC does this so that they can continue to say you are watching the best fighters in the world and I know someone will say Wand or Randy or Franklin have just as bad records lately but those fighters are big draws that get audiences interested even if they have sucked lately.

They’re also quite selective about this.

Who's the fellow on the left?
He reminds me of that fat kid with the pink hair from the last UFC.
…OK, I feel bad, I like Hermes Franca. I’ve never seen somebody so happy and carefree after a positive roids test.

All of these fighters would be solid additions to Strikeforce. I liked Chris Wilson a lot, but for some reason, he underperformed in the UFC. In Strikeforce, Jay hieron is one of their top Welterweights, and Wilson has beaten him. Franca’s a good test for anyone at Lightweight, and possibly seeing him against Melendez or Thompson would be interesting.
Franaca alaready fought Thomson
at UFC 46 and beat him by majority decision.
I meant Thomson beat Franca my bad
Josh Thomson beat Hermes Franca at UFC 46 by majority decision my bad
If Strikeforce jumps all over these guys, wouldn’t it make them look like UFC Lite even more?

Justin McCully
Dana probably said, “We gotta fuckin get rid of this guy. Anyone in our roster with a fuckin nickname of Nsane1 has to go. I mean, Ken-Flo and J-Lau are bad enough, but Nsane1? No fucking way.”
