Josh Neer (25-9-1, 4-6 UFC) Released by the UFC:
"Sources closed to the Iowa-based fighter informed FiveOuncesOfPain.com early Saturday morning that Neer was let go by the organization shortly after his unanimous decision loss to Gleison Tibau at UFC 104 last Saturday. The defeat was Neer’s second consecutive in the Octagon and his third in his last four fights."

This is a long time coming.
2 – 3 against low level UFC competition coupled with his actions outside of the Octagon deserve a pink slip. Getting ragdoll’d at 104 was the nail in the coffin.

@deowade
he did get taken down at will.. (like most guys who fought tibau)
but i was really impressed that a high level grappler like that couldn’t do much with those takedowns..

Had a feeling that this would happen after his 104 loss. I’m sure after he gets a couple of wins outside of the UFC he will be back again.
Lou: [Lou hits Tyler in the face] Do you hear me now?
Tyler Durden: No, I didn't quite catch that, Lou.
[Lou hits Tyler again]
Tyler Durden: Still not getting it.
[Lou hits Tyler a few more times]
Tyler Durden: Ok, I got it. Shit, I lost it.
[Lou continues to beat up Tyler]

I dunno that he’ll get a third trip back. H’e have to look really damn good outside the octagon to get the call back.

Neer would be an amazing fighter to watch
if he had anything in his arsenal remotely close to a sprawl.
His escapes were amazing. He kept getting up and coming forward. I thought the UFC liked guys like that.
