Vitor Belfort Wants the UFC Middleweight Title, Says MMA Blogs Misunderstood His Comments

Vitor Belfort's recent comments saying that "Marquardt deserves the title more", have been making rounds over internet blogs, leading people to believe that he doesn't want a shot at Anderson Silva's belt. Vitor Belfort felt that people didn't quite get what he meant, so he released a statement, saying that he indeed wants a go at the title.
From his manager, Fabiano Farah:
"Unfortunately recent articles took out of context Vitor's words. Vitor shows respect for all fighters. Since he was 18 years old (his first MMA fight) Vitor never chose a fight. There is no such thing as a "wish list" for Vitor! There is only one simple priority to his career: CONQUER BACK HIS LEGACY."
From Vitor himself:
"I'm back to the UFC in order to conquer back my Legacy. This is my only and exclusive priority. With all respect to my opponents, I depend on them, since they are a natural consequence, to make this happen"
He also comments on this on his twitter page:
I think I was misunderstood in a quote about fighting for the belt.... My whole purpose to coming back to the UFC is to win the belt!! ...I am stoked that the UFC and Dana White have given me this chance!

Tabuena, you’ve been posting like crazy. Seems like there’s always something new to read.
I hope he can pull of the upset if the fight happens, Belfort is a motivational guy, been through so much, and keeps pushing forward.
