I’m glad he clarified his stance on this issue. It’s one that has bothered me for a while. For years people have referred to amateur MMA as easier, as if amateurs almost have no contact MMA fights. When the fact is, on top of Dana’s point’s, the only difference is a 3rd round. When Amir Sodollah won TUF a couple’a years back, people talked as if his previous 4 amateur fights(all of which he finished) weren’t enough experience to warrant a spot on the show. Even though they provided the same experience as pro fights. People will argue, " Easier fighters" , I say hogwash, I’ve seen pro’s who shouldn’t be pro’s, and amateur’s that should be pro’s. From my observations, there is not much difference in skill set’s comparing amateur promotion’s to some of the smaller regional professional promotions. Rec’d
