Nick Thompson set to compete on TUF 11?
TUF Tryouts in L.A.
Wow a ton of good fighters!
They started by seperating the weights...185 guys and 205 guys.
Then had everyone grapple for 2 min. It took all day..lol
then it was my turn....
DANA WHITE calls out "Shannon Ritch"...yes Dana said my name- Ha Ha
then they call out probably the toughest guy in the room. "Nick Thompson"
HT: Shannon Ritch

LOLZ at The Cannon saying he outgrappled The Goat
If Thompson is on the show, I’ll be fucking thrilled.

Definitely time for him to shorten that Nickname to , Shannon "The Can" Ritch.

Thompson's take;
Caught me several times in what? Shannon is correct that we did grapple each other at the TUF tryouts but the rest of his post is utter non-sense.
In said match, you were to start on your knees and basically flow. Dana instructed us that he didn’t care about position but rather just wanted us to move and go for submissions. As such, I was trying some inverted-guard (at least I think that is the name of the position) and to Shannon’s credit, he stopped them and took my back. I then reversed him and was still, more or less, flowing when he put my leg across his body like he was going to go for an outside heel hook. Mind you, heel hooks were not allowed. In any case Shannon did nothing more than put my leg across his body before I became irritated that he was going for it and pulled of the outside heel hook and mounted Shannon. I locked in a side choke and he tapped well before I actually applied the choke. I let go and continued to flow, as per Dana’s instructions, and Shannon tapped as I started to set-up an armbar because he was exhausted and wanted to quit.
The sad part is, that Shannon’s grappling technique is actually pretty decent and he probably could have been a good fighter if he had any heart.

I wonder how many people showed up to the try outs. This is what MMAWeekly wrote:
As of 130 pst, 190 middleweights and 81 light heavies show for TUF 11 tryouts. UFC prez Dana White surprised by low turnout.
Total non-issue
There is no shortage of fighters trying to make it on TUF. Or maybe they heard The Goat made it and got scared off.

LOL
I am pretty sure its “TUFF” to find a good amount of LHW’s.
=)
I mean, what WW are they going to find that can beat the Goat? Not to mention he has his law degree. Pretty scary stuff. You beat him, you have a law suit in your hands.

It's MW's and LHW's
So they’re not going to find any WW’s to beat him.

Southworth??
So much for having him fight King Mo. That would be a first, though— a vet of TUF returning as opposed to a vet of the UFC (though he is technically that, as well).

Oh I would bet that Mr. Southworth has a very good shot – the UFC has an uphill battle in trying to match this season’s ratings and they’ll do everything they can to create drama.
My guess is that Southworth makes it onto the show, and in the previews we see a very tense argument between him and Dana.

Yep
I bet he makes it, too. It’s a pretty compelling angle; one that hasn’t been tapped.

He tried out last year and made it for the heavies
They found a brain aneurysm in his physical, so he had to pull out and have that taken care of.

He would have had a field day on this season with everyone but Nelson.
A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.
I think he would have beaten Nelson. Roy’s one advantage is his grappling and there is no way that Drysdale shouldnt be able to out grapple him.
Yep
He probably would have cleaned house.
