Vitor Belfort: "I never looked for the Anderson Silva fight. I'd actually like to have a couple more fights. I think Nate Marquardt deserves the title shot more than me. I didn't call that Anderson fight. I'm just an employee."

Sure seems like Dana rushed Vitor

into a title fight that he’s really not confident about.

Vitor is never confident

Poor bastard. If his mental game approached his physical game, he’d be a multi-time champion.

I hope that is his reasoning behind these

comments. If not, it definitely sounds like he is already reasoning why he lost to Anderson.

Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.

I love his laugh when asked about a weakness in Anderson's game.

I wouldn’t want to fight Anderson yet either, get a couple more fights in before you end up in the same position as Hendo and Marquardt.

For others, I agree with this, but for Vitor, I can’t get behind it. I love Belfort, but it’s no secret that he’s all over the place in his consistency. He’s on a hot streak right now, but that could end at any moment. He’s better off pushing for a fight with Silva right now, rather than risk losing to, say, Sonnen and taking yet another downward slide, then having to build himself back up yet again.

Besides, I have to say, I think Belfort has a better chance than many to beat Silva. That’s not to say I would pick Vitor, but Vitor’s fast hands and power can lead to a flash KO against anyone, Silva included. Again, would I pick Vitor in this fight? Nah, probably not. But I wouldn’t pick any MW on the planet against Silva right now, and Vitor at least has a shot.

AS vs Nate
Vitor vs Sonnen (unless Hendo resigns)

Ugggghhh. Chael???

Giving Shogun his props. I had the fight 48-47 Machida but Shogun put up a monumental performance and I am honored to have seen it in person.

Who else would he fight? Akiyama? Maia?

Agreed. Vitor is a very likable fighter.

On another note, is anyone else worried that there will be less than 5 strikes thrown in the first round? Seriously, I’d be surprised if any punches are landed through the first round. Expect to here the boo-birds to be a plenty. I hope its a great fight, but both of their fighting styles are all about patience – and that was EXTREMELY evident in Vitor with his fight against Franklin.

If Vitor's smart?

There won’t be any. He’ll spend te round trying to finda good riddum to work against Anderson. :)

or even The round. oops.

His demeanor tells a story

1st, he does not look mentally sharp in this interview. This correlates well to his inconsistent career. I believe in a fight with Silva, he will be far to cautious to really compete with him and it will be a 5 round stinker.

Doubtful it will be a 5 round stinker, someone should be getting knocked out.
