I imagine Machida fans sitting down to read this post, seeing that everybody and their fightmetric agrees that Shogun won and doing a spit-take on their morning urine.
Also: I just want to point out that saying that “it was a close fight” is irrelevant. It was close, but decisive.

lol, i side 100% with you, but no one is going to give way at all in this argument. it’s time to gear up for Shogun vs Machida 2 and let the score be settled there.

I hoped that all the Machida fans that were saying, “You just wait until FightMetric posts the results – then you’ll see how wrong you are!” would come back and say, “Maybe instead of accusing you of being blinded by your love of Shogun or inability to filter out Rogan’s commentary, we were instead blinded by our affection for Machida. It would seem that a legitimate case can be made for a Shogun victory, and while I still feel that Machida did an excellent job of countering on the inside with his straight left, I can now see what you all have been saying.”
But so far, no such luck…

Of course a legitimate case can be made for Rua winning. I was surprised by fightmetric.
But he didn’t win, it was close, thems the breaks. Rogan still was sickening though.

Well, 3 judges don’t think he won, but in the eyes of most folks watching, he sure didn’t lose.

The problem here is
As it has been every time “everyone thought Rua won” has been brought up… 3 judges’ opinions > everyone else’s, and should.
