Aggression MMA "First Blood" Results

20090321063604_200903200277_medium

Upstart Canadian promotion Aggression MMA chose a busy fight weekend to hold their inaugural card; as a result, last night's "First Blood" show in Edmonton, Alberta, slid by largely unnoticed. However, the main portion of the card was littered with veterans of Pride (Cyrille Diabate), IFL (Matt Horwich), UFC (Jason Lambert, who's now at 185) and Sengoku (Nick Denis; right).

Here are the full results, via Top MMA News:

Matt Horwich def. Jason Lambert via split decision R3 5:00

Nick Denis def. Jason Townes via TKO (punches) R2 1:26

Nick Ring def. Yannick Galipeau via submission (armbar) R1 2:30

Cyrille Diabate def. Marcus Hicks via submission (armbar) R1 1:29

Len Bentley def. Kurt Southern via submission (armbar) R1 0:20

Cory Lautischer def. Robin Black via submission (guillotine) R1 0:31

Adam Lorenz def. Rolando Perez via unanimous decision R3 5:00

Lenny Wheeler def. Amir Uddin via TKO (punches) R1 0:30

Tony Bibby def. Cory Knapp via submission (guillotine) R1 0:54

Josten Tardif def. James Petryk via TKO (punches) R2 4:23

Sean Carr def. Ivan Lepki via submission (punches) R1 0:45

That's not the same Marcus Hicks

The WEC Hicks is a lightweight, known for being knocked out by Varner, then putting on one of the worst fights in recent memory against Razor Rob. He could never have fought Cyrille Diabate, a LHW, notable for fighting Shogun.

Right you are. Truth be told, I didn’t even look at his profile, since the name Marcus Hicks just conjures up memories of said awful fight.
