UFC 104 Results: Joe Stevenson Elbows Spencer Fisher Into a Second Round Finish
Joe Daddy may be ready to walk away from the sport, but he's got a lot of fight left in him. With the polish of Greg Jackson's efforts, Stevenson appeared adequately prepared and newly equipped with defensive stand-up footwork, clean level changing and constant movement.
Stevenson, looking excited and confidently prepared from the moment of the walk out, used significantly improved stand-up and a an excellent demonstration of range in takedown choices. Landing a simple wrestling throw by to finally take Fisher's back standing in the first. From there Stevenson was able to Fisher down while maintaining back control to finish the round with positional dominance.
Round two began with Stevenson openly looking for the takedown, but patiently hunting. Stevenson eventually pulled Fisher back to the floor, which spelled the beginning of the end for the Miletich product. A capable but overmatched Fisher eventually gave up the guard pass. Stevenson moved to The Crucifix position landing unanswered elbows forcing referee Herb Dean to stop the fight. Stevenson's immovable base and Fisher's underwhelming wrestling was more the difference in ability than what was shown in the stand-up exchanges.
It's also a performance from Stevenson like this that makes one appreciate BJ Penn's absolute domination of a very capable Joe Daddy.
At 4:03 of round number two, referee Herb Dean puts a halt to the bout.

I was really hoping that Spencer Fischer would have won that fight Joe Stevenson is annoying. Does anyone know what he was talking about after the fight?

Stevenson’s crucifix elbows were just plain nasty, glad he got the TKO was afraid that he was just going to take him down and lay on him for the decision victory.
"Did you feel you did well against Lindland?" "
