UFC 104 Results: Anthony Johnson KOs Yoshiyuki Yoshida With Dominating Performance

Picture_3_medium_medium

Johnson Rumbled while Yoshida got rocked.

Despite the difficult weight cut, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson looked nearly peerless next to the clearly outclassed Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

From the outset of the bell, Rumble put together a striking offensive Yoshida had no skill set to combat. Rumble put together accurate, straight punches in cleanly executed combinations that eventually rocked the Japanese welterweight.

From there Johnson worked a textbook finishing push by using proper distancing and accurately placed strikes to the very rocked Yoshida.

It's not altogether clear how the onerous weight cutting effort would've drained Johnson should the fight have left even the first round, but Johnson dispatched Yoshida so quickly that the cut is little more than distant memory.

Johnson has likely earned himself a new opponent if not with the toughest skill set, then certainly with a some kind of name. Personally, I'd love to see Johnson and American Kickboxing Academy's Mike Swick headline a fight night.

Steve Mazzagatti stops the fight at 0:41in the first round.

There is an issue to be made of whether Yoshida was completely finished, although it's not one I'm willing to make.
