Another episode, another loss for Team Rampage. This time Wes Sims fell (hard) to Team Rashad's Justin Wren. Wren didn't take long. After taking Sims down, he mounted and ended the fight with an arm triangle.
Rampage is making a run at Ken Shamrock's crown of worst season of coaching on the show. There is an odd dichotomy at play though. While Rampage clearly has no interest in being on the show in a coaching capacity, his rage grows exponentially with each loss.
Three more preliminary fights and three more Team Rampage losses to go. Will Matt Matrione continue to tire coach Rashad Evans with his made up shoulder injury? Will D&D and gardening freak Marcus Jones make it through a fight? Will the bearded dude get back on the show? Tune in to find out!

What if he DOES go 0-8? There would be no reason for the team to be there anymore, their presence would just be a long joke.
A hilarious joke
While it certainly appears that Rampage is a dismal coach, he’s not entirely to blame for all of his fighters losing. I don’t think the short period of time these guys get to train with any coach would have turned any of them into world beaters. If a fighter makes it to the finale, they will have fought 3 times within a 6 week period. The bottom line is, historically the fighters that do well on TUF are ones that show up in fight shape and are already within a few pounds of the required weight. Rampage chose the biggest guys with arguably the least skills and least cardio conditioning. That’s why his team has lost every bout.

Cutting weight is not really an issue.

If he takes the wrong guys, then it’s his fault too. He could have taken at least Roy Nelson as his first pick :/.

No doubt. I think he basically just picked the most colourful guys, or the guys that would make the best of their time on reality TV. He chose to do TUF again to hype himself up and to get a big PPV % if he fought Rashad at the end of it (which was his thinking before his retirement). Lets say his team loses every fight. Then he just says, “Well my team may have lost but I will KTFO Rashad just like Hendo did to Bisping last season. Buy the PPV you’ll see.” Let’s say his team actually turns this around. Then he says “I told you we’d win and I’ll KTFO Rashad to cap it off. Buy the PPV and you’ll see.” It’s win win for him. Sure he’s acting poorly, by not encouraging his fighters after each loss and acting like it’s all about him, but in the end he is a FIGHTER and not a COACH and is just promoting himself. All of his fighters that have lost deserve just as much blame, and Rashad’s fighters deserve full credit for their wins. Blaming every loss completely on Rampage is ridiculous.

I get that some people are into that sense of humor… but it’s like being in fucking middle school again and it makes me a little homicidal… I know Darrill would get owned but I’d like to see him get one REALLY good shot in!

It's actually the safest Fast Food chain...
they had to clean up their act because of the Ecoli outbreak in WA in the early 90’s. It made national news and then they overhauled thier operation.
And Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges dominate, even if I can feel my cholestoral go up when I eat them.
When the fuck did White Castle get out of KC?!?! I’m from Omaha and we used to go to KC for Worlds/Oceans of Fun and grab White Castle while we were there. Now there is never a reason for me to return. It’s so bad in KC now they are giving away Cheifs/Chargers tix on the radio here…

Two actually...
there was a whole conversation the other day on another thread…we found out there are like 6 or 7 Seattleites (or general vicinity) that post here.
Machida could have coached this season without saying a word in English … or Portuguese … or any language, and he’d be a better coach than Rampage.
Ive never seen someone go downhill as a fighter (or coach) as quick as he has. ONe of my favourite fighters of all time … and im actually starting to hate him a bit. Douche.

lets see rampage call him that. really though, i think it’s not that big a deal derril is a rookie(kinda) and rampage is a classic trash talker, so he should just let it slide. if he shows rampage that it doesn’t bother him, rampage will drop it. i think since nothing ever happened, (as far as we know) that’s probably what happened epsecially since derril won. hell rampage probably hs titties by now. i heard he’s up to 250. :)

because it was lighthearted and creative, and goofed on everyone. The way Rampage singles out Schoonover, and then throws a hissy fit if he (or anyone) has the balls to stand up for himself is lame. But to be expected from Rampage. He’s a bully. And like all bullies, he’s insecure and weak-minded, and can’t take it when he gets back what he gives out. I was never a big fan of Rampage, but damn, I kinda loathe the guy now. If that is due to creative editing, then bravo to Dana.

once the teaser for next weeks episode finished. I actually said out loud to myself – “Holy shit, no ham handed attempts to convince me that Kimbo just may get a chance to lose a fight again – AWESOME!”
Even though I know it’s likely not true, it almost makes me feel like the producers at Spike have been following viewer commentary on the net and realized that the bullshit “Kimbo’s Second Coming” angle was beyond played out and in fact just extremely stupid and annoying and re-edited the previews to take them out.
Either that or the fighters have worked out all their creaks, cuts and kinks so that no one presents any career ending ailments that they can exploit into a possible Kimbo Komeback™.
I am wondering – did anyone count the number of times Rampage said “tittie” or just how many times the word was said overall?

There is nothing I hate worse than recording this show & seeing
that by the time it actually gets to the fight there is only 5 minutes left w/commercials. This has been the worst season (fightwise) in TUF history.
Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even when you win you are still retarded.

on the contrary, with the heavyweights I love it when I see there is 5 minutes left, there is less likely a “let me lie on top of you for the next 10 minutes” fight.
I guess it’s just me, I like it when fights don’t go to the judges. The fight last night wasn’t bad at all, better than I expected considering how they portrayed both fighters prior.
I agree with you about the lieing on top of someone,
but the less time also means the fight is going to be shitty & one-sided very badly. Which is what we have seen in every fight except for Schaub/Demico.

I thought that was the norm
Being that at the end, there is no mystery as to who will be fighting who anymore. After the 7th prelim fight the 8th is a no-brainer. It’s not like their is a lot of compelling television happening in the house anyways, at least not enough to fill up 45-50 minutes of TV show as we have so plainly seen so far this season. So, they just air both the final prelim fights on the same show.
