i liked it
at least compared to what else they have shown, it’s much better. and they actually showed and mentioned brett as well. a big step for them as of now. lol. hopefully they will showcase the gegar/soku and the shields/ mayhen fights. they would be crazy not to.

Who is that at the :20 second mark?
I thought it was Hendo but now I’m not sure. Also what’s up with them showing shots of Kimbo are they trying to get more fans to tune in and so they think if they throw in a couple shots of Kimbo more fans will think he is fighting and tune in.

It totally looks like a EPK to be sent to local stations. The VO would be re-dubbed with one of their local sports peoples voices then broadcast as if they put the put the piece together. This looks like the master cut with guide audio or maybe one of the local reporters voice already in.
Not saying it is, but it has that feel. Followed the youtube link to CBS but I couldn’t find it. Nate how did you find the link?

But has anyone he’s fought ever had anything approaching the power Fedor has? I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rogers get clocked (though I’ve only seen the Murphy and Arlovski fights which were blowouts).

I hadn’t really thought about how difficult the UFC has made marketing Fedor by purchasing almost all of his fight footage. The best way to market Fedor is to show fight clips, and Strikeforce has nearly nothing. He needs a few highlight reel moments in his fight with Rogers just for the sake of future marketing campaigns.

Um, not necessarily. Strikeforce said otherwise. I think they can use the Arlovski footage since the PPV was produced by Showtime.

I think showtime can only show it on their channel. Strikeforce doesn’t have any rights to the footage and showtime has limited.

I’d be surprised if Fedor didn’t get rights for his own footage after all his Pride footage was lost and besides, haven’t we already seen the Arlovski fight being used by Strikeforce ? I remember something of that sort , a commercial with all the people Fedor beat and in the end him KOing Andrei , or did I confuse it with something else ?

This would be different because it doesn’t all belong to Showtime/Elite/Strikeforce. If they can use the Fedor/AA fight and they haven’t, they are dumb.

More of Fedor training, but this time it actually has Rogers fighting. Atleast that’s one positive step, not sure about the rest of the video.
And this is about 3.5 minutes long, too long for a commercial. Or are they actually going to play this entire segment during one of the football pregame shows?

yeah probably , he has a few nice submissions from the rings days but I’m not sure anything spectacular. Unfortunately his greatest fights were definitely in PRIDE , together with the two Afflictions fights which is unclear at the moment if these are usable ( I think the Arlovski fight has already been used though)

I could have cut this promo with the software that came on my computer.
For CBS and SHOWTIME this is a REALLY bad production. If it took one guy more than 30 min to make I would be surprised.
I am starting to get PISSED OFF they are taking what should be a good fight and ACTUALLY making it cheesy with these low budget promo videos.
I am getting LESS excited even if it is FREE with every NEW video promo.
If this was PPV and this was the promo I would charge them for wasting my time watching this garbage.
WTF – Strikeforce has an opportunity here and they are BLOWING IT, or letting CBS/Showtime blow it!!!
