Can i explain the logic to this

Go get that bread, Kimbo Slice. - Mike Fagan

by SouthAlaBamaRampage on Oct 2, 2009 2:10 AM EDT reply actions

EASY

Babe Ruth!

He called how he was going to win, and Kimbo was so easy for him to beat, that he did it the way he told everyone he was going to.

Also, he said where is my Whopper because his teammates dared him.

=)

I heard the same thing

… so Kimbo comes back and ends up fighting Schaub.

Pure speculation off the observation of the video imo

Yea, pure speculation but I’m with you right there. IF it is true, Kimbo definitely drew the short straw in fighting Roy and Schaub

Yea, that is imo, the 2 toughest fighters on the show

Also makes me re think the whole is that Demico or Kimbo beating Schaub against the Fence

Nice Find

You’re right about the beating against the fence. You can tell they digitally mess with images. Notice how when Kimbo walks to the octogon in the last episode, Rampage is right behind his shoulder, but in the early previews for the show, in the same shot, Rampage isn’t there.

by GoldenOldie on Oct 2, 2009 11:31 AM EDT up reply actions

Rampage was there in the previews for a split second. It’s how I knew Kimbo was on Rampage’s team before the season started.

It sounds like Roy clearly says “if you get him in the crucifix position and start landing unanswered shots…like I was”. Completely missed it when I was was watching yesterday.

On a side note: Who else thinks ‘Tiddies’ looks funny as hell trying to give some advice too. That should also be his official nickname, ‘Tiddies’.

Here Is One Going Around...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yogoeh-I9uI&feature=related\#t=5m15s"

They said Dana screamed out “10 seconds” and Dean may have been looking at Dana because they didn’t want the fight to be stopped.

Roy also mentions this in his interview:

You could even see me yelling at Herb Dean, ‘Come on, ref.’ But the thing is, there’s a lot of people; there’s a lot of money. Kimbo’s the only one that I know that had an entourage there; he actually had his family there, his management, while the rest of us kind of had to suffer. The UFC made, we’ll say, different concessions for Kimbo. I think he had a media room. Kimbo’s definitely, I guess we’ll say, special. I don’t see the specialness fighting-wise, but more for TV-wise. He puts butts in the seats. So I think it was more that Herb Dean was afraid to lose his job, because there’s a lot of people with a lot of money that can have a lot of influence with his career."
What did Dana say to you after the fight?
I think he wasn’t happy with that fight. I mean, everybody was really mad. Kimbo’s whole entourage was there, which was kind of funny since we are all supposed to be isolated, but Kimbo actually had his whole fan base, the whole 305 over there. There’s definitely some favoritism already built up there. Whatever. But they simply said to me that I have a better skill set than Kimbo, which I don’t know if it’s true. I’m just a fat guy. I’m going to go with one of my favorite sponsors, TapouT, [and say] I’m just bad for the sport.

Did you get the impression that the people working on the show were upset that Kimbo lost?
I’ll tell you the executive producer of The Ultimate Fighter was very upset. He doesn’t know fighting, he was just like, ‘Oh, there goes my cash cow.’

by MMASuPreMaCy on Oct 2, 2009 3:43 AM EDT reply actions

Supposedly at the 5:34 mark.

From the UG:
A friend of mine in Vegas was telling me a couple days ago that Roy was telling him how in the Kimbo fight, he had him in a crucifix position, and was hitting him with punches. For what it’s worth, he told me that Herb Dean at one point, looked over at Dana, and Dana motioned for him not to stop the fight. I didn’t notice that on the show and certainly not from the first round. Did anyone notice Herb look over at Dana in the 2nd?

by MMASuPreMaCy on Oct 2, 2009 3:55 AM EDT up reply actions

Add the link please, you keep forgetting this over and over and over again. With how often you copy and paste what other people say, screwing up so often is gonna make people think you are doing it intentionally.

A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.

by iiowyn on Oct 2, 2009 4:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Thanks, now here is the actual quote, including the part you cut out. Real nice job there, considering quoting other people is 90% of what you do.

A friend of mine in Vegas was telling me a couple days ago that Roy was telling him how in the Kimbo fight, he had him in a crucifix position, and was hitting him with punches. For what it’s worth, he told me that Herb Dean (or Yves Lavigne, he couldn’t remember the referee) at one point, looked over at Dana, and Dana motioned for him not to stop the fight. I didn’t notice that on the show and certainly not from the first round. Did anyone notice Herb look over at Dana in the 2nd?

Now I don’t know about you, but if I am paying attention to a ref close enough to notice a quick head turn, I think I would remember the difference between Herb Dean and Yves Lavigne.

A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.

by iiowyn on Oct 2, 2009 4:36 AM EDT up reply actions

Nice Try...

I am quoting a poster…he has posted more than one instance:

I noticed about 5 days ago, you posted what would happen in the Nelson/Kimbo fight regarding the crucifix. A friend of mine in Vegas told me the exact same thing just a day or two before the fight. Roy told my friend that when Herb Dean went to stop the fight, he looked over at Dana, and Dana motioned to him not to stop the fight. I’m glad you caught it because I didn’t notice it watching it live. This isn’t as bad as $kala’s behavior in EliteXC, but it bordering on that same level of favoritism and partisanship.

The game breaker here is when Roy says, “You know, like I was?”…

Man if Kimbo gets stuck fighting Schaub I’m gonna be pissed, two TOUGH fights back to back. Maybe thats how Kimbo earns that respect.

What?

Why will you be pissed if he has two tough fights? He got beat once, easily, so he should get a gimme second fight?

No, I’d just feel bad for the dude, he’d face the two, arguably, toughest fights in the house back to back. He shouldn’t get a gimme fight, but it would be ironic for him to draw those two fights.

There won’t be enough people noticing it, but I don’t think they need help increasing viewership, they had me hooked as soon as the “On the next episode…” clip was done. lol And also, this sparked my interest in Schaub, so I watched a couple of his fights…not incredibly impressed. If Kimbo does come back, I’d really hope it’s not the next fight or two…

I know Kimbo’s not good, but I really like the guy, and I don’t want to see him after two straight losses on this show, I can only imagine how that would go.

by Kaleb Kelchner on Oct 2, 2009 4:47 AM EDT up reply actions

Why does it matter? He is fighting for the UFC anyways. The are already looking for opponents for him. Either for the Finale show or UFC 107.

by MMASuPreMaCy on Oct 2, 2009 4:52 AM EDT up reply actions

It matters because how he does on the show will effect how long he’s fighting in the UFC. If Kimbo is coming off two straight losses, then loses, BOOM…Kimbo is damaged goods.

I just don’t want Kimbo to crash and burn. I’d much prefer a stint in the UFC and he just comes to terms that it’s too late in the game to fight at that level, and stays affiliated with the UFC as he makes movies ect, ect.

by Kaleb Kelchner on Oct 2, 2009 5:03 AM EDT up reply actions

I mean, if he wins in the Finale or UFC 107, it really won’t matter what he did at TUF, to tell you the truth. If he loses 2-3 more times and looks terrible, he will get cut and labeled as a joke or moved to the WEC for their PPV aspirations, maybe?

Poor editing gives it away

I didn’t even notice that on Wednesday. Did anyone else notice that the Kimbo interviews were blurry? Fire a cameraman too. Maybe he can fight Kimbo to get his job back.

It makes sense though

since Schaub is the one who said “Fuck that guy.” Schaub says he respects Kimbo a lot now, so it’s probably a competitive fight.

Nice work South Alabama. When the show aired and we heard this I dont think anyone thought anything of it. How could the editors make such a monumental mistake and play a totally out of sequence scene that would be from a future episode. Roy’s statement of “…like I did” could have been refereing to something in training. NOw that we have seen the fight and the replay of this scene several times the only conclusion is that this scene IS related to an upcoming fight with Kimbo and Schaub. The first guy isn’t talking about Roy’s jab but is instead looking past Roy over at Schaub. The editors must of had this bit of video labled “Roy talks about fighting Kimbo” and the morons played it on the wrong episode! Love it!

The part where Roy is talking about how he moves a lot but it’s not really movement and “he’s like a bobblehead” make it seem like he has already fought him, otherwise how would he know all that? I highly doubt he studied much tape on Kimbo before entering the house.

Whats damn funny about this, is Roy Nelson keeps talking in his blogs and interviews about how he called his shot. . . even though this actually took place after the fight.

by Michaelthebox on Oct 3, 2009 4:33 AM EDT reply actions

He probably did. Predicting how you will fight your opponent is a game plan. However comparing this to Babe Ruth would only be accurate if Babe Ruth was hitting against a pitcher who lobbed the ball gently right into Ruth’s wheelhouse.

A man should never waste an opportunity to keep his mouth shut.

by iiowyn on Oct 3, 2009 7:30 AM EDT up reply actions

Or maybe the TUF producers

realized they may have made a mistake and for whatever reason couldnt reedit the show in time. Therefore, they told Roy Nelson to make those Babe Ruth comments as a cover up. It would explain why Roy is making such a big deal over something so little although Nelson is also just that arrogant and I’ll side with the comments above.
