Pierce deserves it.
And I try not to root, but I really hope he whoops that ass.
Pierce’s bread and butter is his GnP though, so Koscheck may be a bad matchup.
And Efrain gets lower level opponents
after knocking Cole Millers block off. Grand.

Lentz looked really good against Oliveira
and he’s more experienced than Cole Miller. I wouldn’t say it’s a much of a step down at all for Efrain.

Name value.
Where does this win put him? Cole had a bit of a big name, but Lentz? Not a whole lot to gain from it. I wanna see him take on Mr. Guillard… : )

Well, they want to build Efrain up. They’re talking about hitting Mexico City in April, so they need him to get an impressive win right here.

So many exciting matchups for Kos, and this is what the UFC comes up with? Ugh.
And that is a sad looking card.
Come on it's October
The card isn’t until January.
I bet you 2-3 of those fights end up on the prelims. The Simpson one for sure.

I think that the UFC probably wants to put Koscheck in Title contention and giving him Trigg and then Pierce, two fighters who on paper he should beat, will fast-track him to that. I’d say that the UFC will probably give Koscheck a top ten Welterweight after this fight (maybe the winner of Paul Daley vs Carlos Condit), or someone with a name like Karo Parisyan.
On paper, so far, this Fight Night doesn’t look as good as the most recent ones, but the UFC has pretty much shown that more often times than not, the fights can still be good or even great even though they looked below average on paper.

Dude
It’s a Fight Night that’s 3 months away with no main event announced. Calm the F down…

You can toss in Chris Leben vs. Jay Silva up here too.

That should be a main card fight

Perhaps we should learn to wait until the full line-up for a card
is announced, before calling it “sad” or lame".
Three of those four fights are likely to be prelims, and this happens every time the prelims get announced before the main card fights do.
I remember back when UFC 103 was in its early stages with only Kampmann-Swick, Griffin-Franca, and Miller-Escudero announced, and people were calling for Joe Silva’s head, and demanding that the event be demoted to a Fight Night.
UFC events these days have 11-12 fights, folks…let’s wait until we learn about more than four of them before we start complaning.
Anyone know who Jake Rosholt is fighting next?

Sloppy fighting FTW.
Sounds like a barnburner.
