Kris "Savage" McCray - (Middleweight) No one has made it out of the first round with him in his pro career. Saw McCray and McClintok at the UWC event. For the whole 5 seconds they were in the cage before obliterating their opponents they did look good; next time I’ll hopefully get to see a bit more of a fight though!

Roger Bowling from Cincinnati is a stud. He has a fight coming up in November, and if he wins, he gets a strikeforce contract. So keep an eye out.

Dude is a beast. I just looked him up. Will keep an eye on him.

We discussed Bowling about 7-8 months ago. From his previous fights, he seems pretty raw, but he’s touted as an excellent natural athlete. Has a ton of potential..
I STILL poop rainbows.

Yeah, I’m not impressed with Bowling. He needs a better camp to unleash his potential. He is physically a beast with some great athleticism, but he needs to be honed.

Ben Askren also
Even though he has been talked about a lot. I think Phil Davis is a better wrestling/mma prospect than Askren but Ben is going too be solid.

Really?
Askren is good but seriously Davis should be signed before Askren. A great fight would be Phil Davis v Muhammed Lawal, I would love too see that fight. I also would rather see Kris McCray in however, I know he will more than likely be on the next season of TUF. He made it this last time but because Kimbo signed on too be on TUF they made it all heavweights and didn’t do middleweights. This next time is suppose too be LHW and Middleweights. I know he will probably make it at the Oct 26th casting call.

I’ve heard about Phil Davis for a while now, but I am not sure why he hasn’t been linked to a promotion yet. He would be an excellent pickup, and actually, I can see him being signed to Strikeforce to build up their LHW division. Askren has a bigger name at the moment, I believe, so that may have factored into the decision.

yeah
Maybe Phil Davis will try out for TUF and he and McCray will both be on the show, that would be awesome!

Jacob Volkmann
should be on this list. He’s one of the sickest grapplers I’ve ever seen. 9-0 as a pro and training out of Minnesota MMA. I’ve only seen him fight mma once (the last Bellator event), but I’ve seen him at several grappling tournaments and on the mat he’s very impressive.

I would add Daniel Cormier to the list, he is a former Olympian and has a great chance at success in the heavyweight division.
Daniel Cormier of course but he is already in Strikeforce now. These are fighters not in Strikeforce or UFC, actually up and coming fighters. Cormier already has the big name and an 8 fight contract with Strikeforce.

So to clarify, up and coming in the context of this post means the fighter has yet to be televised, not that the fighter may become a big name?
up and coming as in
They are not signed too major shows. They are trying too get too the major show. Strikeforce and the UFC are the major shows in the U.S. Look it doesn’t matter. Include Cormier, he is an olypic champion and is going too be great, but I just didn’t include guys that people probably already know about like Askren and Cormier. Its more about some new faces maybe that people haven’t heard about. I just chose too not include guys especially that are already in Strikeforce and the UFC. no biggie.
