Houston Fighting Kimbo in Dec.
I would like to be able to post a source, but it came directly from a conversation with one of the participants. Almost put it on another site, but I'm starting to like Bloody Elbow more than most of the others these days.
I think this fight will be a good one for Houston as Kimbo will be new to weight cutting. Also I think he'll be able to control the fight with his strong clinch game. We all know neither one has much on the ground so I can't see either of them trying to fight there.
The FanPosts are solely the subjective opinions of Bloody Elbow readers and do not necessarily reflect the views of Bloody Elbow editors or staff.

Kimbo learns what?
It’s going to be a standup battle.

Kimbo was a bouncer at a strip club.
He has my loyalty for life.

I may be in the minority
But I think Houston’s more varied muay-thai arsenal will give Kimbo some problems, especially if he can get inside and get Kimbo in the clinch.
I’m with you. Houston by leg kicks and proven punching power.
Unless Kimbo pulls out the Mercer-slaying guillotine, that is.
Seriously
Kimbo couldn’t KO Josh Thompson with flush shots. Houston should win this.

Kimbo’s 35 years old and has to cut his weight by 30 pounds or so, even though he’s already ripped. Seriously – he might have to cut the beard.
Houston Alexander has a very good shot at winning if he survives the early going.
I wonder if the UFC will have any contingency plans in place for if he can’t make weight. Will be interesting to see.

I’m pretty sure Houston is going up to HW because of his lack of a second kidney.

I don’t understand that.

Thought it was some inside joke I didn’t understand :)

Why thank you sir
but I believe you’re mistaken; mainstream news tells me that all MMA fans are ignorant bloodthirsty knuckle-draggers.
:( I guess I’ll go work on my masters project a little more, and hope that one day I can be as intelligent and refined as them.
Houston by decapitation
The average human being supposedly eats 8 pounds of food per day. Aaron Curry eats 8 humans for breakfast.
Kimbo looks pretty ripped at 230 pounds. I don’t see how he cuts to 205 without sacrificing alot of muscle mass. Houston has much quicker hand speed. I’ve seem many of Kimbos fights on YouTube. He seems very slow and plodding. I don’t see how he can beat Houston.

so given all the chatter on the show about him getting another fight, this means that he potentially loses TWO fights on TUF and then gets a fight on a PPV? i know he’s ratings gold… but damn.
unless of course he never fights a second time on the show, which would be ridiculous, since they’ve been teasing the hell out of it in the promos.
This is kind of spoilers. Although Kimbo already lost, this is telling us he either comes back and loses again, or doesn’t come back at all.
Kimbo v. Houston
I had this happening as far back as June on Meltzer’s site (subscribers only). Of course, back then I said Kimbo would have to beat Houston in order to fight Chuck. I’ve long since removed that qualifier.
So, when you see other sites claiming this as an exclusive, now you know the score.
I feel pretty great about this right now.

Would it in Kimbo’s best interest to take this fight to the ground?

I dont see how this match makes sense, unless someone from ATT is telling Joe Silva that Kimbo’s work on ground has improved 200 percent, which is probably enough to take out Houston.

Kimbo's gonna get KTFO!
Houston is ferocious. Nuff said.

Kimbo
Houston Alexander has zero endurance. Kimbo has more endurance and will eventually catch Houston with a haymaker.
Kimbo – 2nd Round Knockout.
Ever seen Houston gas? We’ve seen Kimbo gas. Kimbo ain’t making it past the 90 second mark anyhow.

Big Country
Roy Nelson actually let it slip in one of his interviews about Kimbo moving to LHW.
i think the guy who maintains his composure will win
kimbo is used to the big stage, and will probably fight in the ufc (or elsewhere) win or lose. not alot of risk for him.
houston has been on the verge of getting cut for awhile now. if he loses, i think he’s gone… and knowing that going into it, i think he’s gonna crack under the pressure. certainly gonna be alot of hype going into the fight if it happens. hopefully he can handle it.
i’m certainly pulling for alexander to get the win… just not too confident about where his head is at. we’ll see.
As you're probably aware
Houston has fought five times in the UFC, which is quite a bit of big stage experience. Houston also has a lot of pressure put on him locally. He can’t go anywhere in Omaha without every male under the age of 35 gawking at and talking to him. he was at the foodcourt the other day and I must have counted almost two dozen people shaking his hand and taking pictures with him.
Houston by Clinch-Uppercuts about 45 seconds in.
Although the beard will keep Kimbo standing for an extra punch or two.
