Heavyweights Leading the Way in Knockouts (Tapology)
According to new data published over at Tapology, Heavyweight fighters have been consistently delivering more finishes due to strikes in professional MMA bouts over the course of the past two years. The data, while inconclusive, supports the commonly-held opinion that lighter-weight fighters head to decisions more often than their heavier counterparts. What is unclear, however, is whether this trend is a result of an apparent skill gap between the weight classes--with the lighter weight classes possessing more skill, therefore being more difficult to finish--or whether it is simply the result of a lack of concussive power possessed by fighters under the 170lb limit.

They’re bigger with more mass and momentum, and a head is still a head whether its on a HW or a LW.
