Paulo Filho Thinks That the UFC is Against Brazilian Fighters:

"There are a lot of better guys in other organizations. Fight is fight, everybody deserves respect...

UFC is a big event, but Americans do what they can for you can’t apply your technique. They match incompatible games, preferably with whoever they want, everything to take you down. American is American, they want Americans with the belt and eliminate the Brazilians, but they’ll have to work hard because we’re the best."

here’s another translation by fighters only:

The UFC is a great event, but the Americans do everything so that you cannot get the advantage. They [do] everything to get you down. American is American, they want to see Americans with the belt and so eliminate as many Brazilians as possible – but they will have to work a lot, because we are the best

He's right

While hardcore MMA fans don’t care who’s carrying the belts, general fans want to see an Americans holding the belts.

how is he right?

When Filho says THEY, it’s not general fans, he means THE UFC..

by Anton Tabuena on Oct 13, 2009 2:25 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah

He’s clearly implying the UFC is skewing things into American fighter’s favor/s.

I STILL poop rainbows.

Yeah cause there are tons of Brazilian fighters who are waiting for title shots.

another conspiracy theory from a nut. andrson silva is fighting vitor, machida is fighting shogun, so what? that guarantees a brazillian champ for a while to come. i think the fans in general could care less about a fighters nationality, but more on how they perform in the cage and sometimes outside of it. nobody cares that gsp is from canada, they just care that he’s good. no surprise of the source of this-tatame, the brazilian excuse machine.

by bdw on Oct 13, 2009 1:38 AM EDT reply actions

tell me why this is tatame's fault again?

Here’s the question from tatame that Filho answered with a conspiracy theory:

The Brazilians are doing a great job in UFC’s light heavyweight division, with Lyoto, Shogun, Cane, Minotouro, Thiago Silva and Anderson. How do you think that would be you coming in this category?

by Anton Tabuena on Oct 13, 2009 2:29 AM EDT up reply actions

good job

I'm like PacMan fightin you silly kids... throw ya Hatton the ring, and get knocked outlike Ricky did.
lol.

by Loot on Oct 13, 2009 11:27 AM EDT up reply actions

AGAIN?

every time a brazillian superstar fighter loses, tatame is always the 1rst to leak out what injuries or what problems they had before trianing camp. you cherry picked the 1 good thing that was said. i’m not saying they are innacurate or lying (like mma bay is known for), but they are the brazillian excuse machine.. tatame’s fault again? 1rst time ive ever mentioned them, so others must feel the same way. why do you feel the need to stick up for them?

by bdw on Oct 13, 2009 3:13 PM EDT up reply actions

cause on this instance they did nothing wrong..

i wasn’t cherry picking or anything. that’s the question, and that’s filho’s answer..

Americans also hate fighters who come in 8 pounds overweight for title fights and talk to themselves while flopping repeatedly on their backs.

How is this guy even relevant anymore?

Is Filho back on the drugs? Or off the drugs? Or whatever the hell is wrong with him?

UFC Champs are: Hawaiian American, French Canadian, Brazilian, Brazilian, American

Clearly the UFC is just a bastion of nationalist tendency, wtf…

number 1 contenders are Mexican-American, either American/British, Brazilian, Brazilian, and American with a Brazilian getting the next shot after that.

Clearly, they’re against Brazilians.

Imagine his outrage if okami was Brazilian. hahahaha.

Well to be fair… if Okami was American I’d scream reverse racism! haha.

I thought Zuffa was discriminating against Filho because he was batshit crazy.

Not because he was Brazilian.
