Great News For the UFC and Barry hope they keep this up.
I can’t help but lmao at Okami getting the shaft again…
It’s to the point now that all i can do is feel sorry for the man i mean the UFC gives him no breaks lol.

me too. hope they keep this as a permanent fixture before every ppv. i think it can only help sales. wish they would do the weigh-ins live on spike as well.

I'm not sure that we should feel sorry for Okami
Most people that have watched his fights haven’t found them particularly entertaining. And the prevailing assumption is that the UFC buries him in the prelims as a kind of punishment for being boring. But what if Okami is actually being helped by flying under the radar?
Getting on the PPV increases your exposure but only raises your stock if people like what they see. If they think your fight was boring, that exposure only hurt you. If Okami can’t finish people and can’t put on entertaining fights then maybe he’s actually better off racking up decision wins in the prelims. That way if he ever gets put back on that PPV portion they can sell him as winning X fights in a row and cherry pick some shots from his fights to make him look more exciting.

I’m pretty sure SpikeTV is calling the shots on this one. This is no different than when Spike gave Nate Marquardt the cold shoulder for a year or two following the UFN 1 staring contest between Nate the Great and Ivan Salaverry.
It should come as no surprise that Spike chose a TUF champ and the leg kick Ragnarok to be on their live broadcast rather than Yushin McBathroomBreak.

Okami keeps getting Okamied
he really needs to finish this fight if he wants this trend to stop, he is one of the very few really great fighters whom everyone seems to forget so easily.

One of the most criminally under rated comedies ever.

Last time there was 4 fights on Spike, so Okami might get on air if he has a good performance

Plus, it’s 2 fights fewer to compete with to get a spot on the main telecast.

This could become a HUGE night for Duke Roufus’s gym.

Okami won't get on the broadcast
Because the UFC doesn’t want people falling asleep before they order the PPV.

If someone shows up not to fight,
Shouldn’t it be easier to finish them and look good?

No?
Anderson Silva vs Thales Leites, for example.

I'm so sick of the Anderson/Thales reference.
I’ve watch that fight time and time again and Anderson could have ended it on the feet whenever he wanted. He was just messing with Thales, as shown when punched him in the leg for fun, so Anderson showed up to fight, but wanted to put on a sarcastic show instead. Thales didnt show up to fight and should have been dominated.

I'm not sure how
Every time he got within 3 feet of him, Thales fell down.

Wow Roufusport getting plugged on Spike. Even though im picking against both, i hope Schafer and Barry win one for Wisconsin.

That is great. I took issue with Bader being on the un-aired prelims to begin with because he is a legit Light heavy prospect, and I felt that in order to build him up correctly, he needed exposure. With his fight airing on Spike, he will get that much needed exposure. Hardonk vs Barry shouldn’t last very long because someone is getting KOed or TKOed, and it should be a fun fight.
I honestly see NO good reason why the UFC and Spike shouldn’t do this for every PPV.

Going by this I’m guessing the Sadollah vs Baroni and Davis vs Saunders fights will be on Spike for 106.
