Earlier this week Mohammed "King Mo" Lawal stopped by the MMA.tv Underground Forum, back from his trip to Japan, where he won his third professional fight via TKO in the first round over Yukiya Naito. He was kind enough to answer questions from all comers. Some highlights:

   On why he got into mixed martial arts:

I always wanted to fight....It is the Ultimate Dream job....When I was young, we had fight day where I was livin...In counrty ass Richmond, KY

   The King Mo persona:

Its part of me...King MO aint no gimmik...I keep it 100 [percent]

  His experience prior to his pro MMA debut:

I trained for about 6 weeks full time before Travis [Wiuff]...My background is wrestling tho....I did a lil trainin on and off, but it was far from serious....

   His current training situation:

I am a white belt under Dean Lister, Rodrigo, and Rogerio [Nogueira]...Im trainin my hands and Thai wit Justin Fortune in LA and Melchor Menor in San Diego....I still got a long ways to go.

 

I am no longer wit Team Quest...I left before my first fight....Im coo wit em tho..

   His favorite fighters:

My fav fighters are Lyoto, Pimpin Ken [Florian], Lindland, big and lil Nog, Kid, Uno, Sugar Rashad, and everyone else who got the courage to fight..

   What weight he will compete at:

 I can fight at 185, 205 or heavyweight...

   His place in MMA:

I know I'm just startin off....Eventually ima get in there with the best and do my thang....Anderson Silva and Fedor wasn't fightin world Champions after their first 3 or 4 fights...Ya dig?

   His next fight:

I aint sure when im fightin again...Hopefully March 20th [Sengoku 7th Battle]
