Announcing a One Time Special: The Jordan Breen and Luke Thomas Sherdog Radio Network Special

Sherdog.com will be running a 24 hour radiothon to help raise money for The V Foundation for cancer research starting January 16th at 3pm EST with the UFC 93 Roundtable and going until the start of the UFC 93 PPV event the next day on the 17th. I am very happy to announce that your's truly and Sherdog's mastermind Jordan Breen will be co-hosting a show from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, the 16th. For more information on the rest of the line-up, stay tuned to Sherdog.com's radio show rotations.

There's still a lot of undecided content for the two hour program, but if you're interested in hearing something - topic, interview, etc. - leave a note in the comments section.

I have no idea what to expect, but I do know it's generally quite awesome when world's collide.

Just so we’re clear, this is not a joke.

Breen being the defacto expert on lighter weights, particularly in Japan.

Also, if you two could discuss the pros and cons of my idea for the JFL (Jockey Fighting League), as I reckon jockey’s are the only male adult humans you could find in North America who weigh 125lbs. or less.

In the interest of current news...

1) Where does Jorge Santiago fit into the overall middleweight picture
2) Steroids in MMA. In a non-testing environment like Japan is it unethical to juice? Not a specific Overeem discussion…but fueled by a lot of recent conversation on if it is ethical to use in an environment which more or less “allows” it.

I’m sure I’ll come up with some more ideas…but I may not…

Actually, I’d like to hear some thoughts on Overeem, in particular – his recent bulk up and where he might fit in amongst the other top heavyweights in the world.

How about

Luke, you brush up on your Shooto and the two of you talk about the top ten contenders coming out of Shooto and Deep. Sounds like a plan to me…..

You could discuss why a “blogging” style MMA website is far superior than a cavemanesque “forum” style MMA website.

V foundation...

…Is great!

If you haven’t heard the Jimmy V speech from the first ESPYs it is worth checking out!

by NCSAR on Jan 5, 2009 1:39 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Damn, am I the only one excited about this?

by Luke Thomas on Jan 5, 2009 1:57 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That depends. How many flyweights are you prepared to discuss and rank?

No...

it’s just that some of us are trying to pace ourselves, so we won’t gas before you and Breen rock the internet radio world forever.

by Cannon Jacques on Jan 5, 2009 2:04 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I’m excited…

So is John Smoltz. Just look at him.

by Tonley on Jan 5, 2009 2:10 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Why does Smoltz have a camel toe?

by Jordan Breen on Jan 5, 2009 2:30 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Why are you looking at his camel toe?

by Nick Travaglini on Jan 5, 2009 2:34 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That is Moose knuckle, not camel toe.

You are all homosexuals.

Less bigotry, more flyweight ranking.

Yeah, or I will start making “Human Cock Fighting” jokes in refrence to John Smoltz’s bulge.

OR...

they’re so straight that they see vaginas in every picture…

I will be listening.

Did you know we are in high demand, Laura?

by Eugene Schelfaut on Jan 5, 2009 4:29 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Here is Jimmy Valvano's speech from 1993 Espys

Just incase anyone doesn’t know what this is all about. I dare you to watch this straight through and not fill up by the end. If you do there is something wrong with you.

I can’t believe its been so long since Jimmy V. gave the speech. It’s definitely moving. It’s just hard to believe that much time has passed.

by Cannon Jacques on Jan 5, 2009 2:06 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Two can play at this game! Here!

by Rundownloser on Jan 5, 2009 6:54 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I am excited too, are you going to have any auctions or anything to help promote the v foundation?

by NCSAR on Jan 5, 2009 2:04 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I seriously hope there will be a podcast of this 2hr extravaganza.

by Benicio on Jan 5, 2009 4:14 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Definitely. I know that they said that they won’t podcast the entire thing, but hopefully they podcast this plus other highlights.

Luke had me from the moment he used both Wu-Tang and Sublime as intro/outro music on the same show.

by Jahbulon on Jan 5, 2009 9:35 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That is an epic tag-team effort. I’ll definitely be listening.

by Rundownloser on Jan 5, 2009 6:14 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree.

Some of Luke’s best radio work is when he’s going back and forth with another strong personality so I’m looking forward to this.

by Benicio on Jan 5, 2009 9:20 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

1. Where is Snacks? Why doesn’t he call in anymore?
2. On a related note, where is Ryota Matsune? Why is he such a failure?

by ilostmydog on Jan 5, 2009 11:43 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

so if i dont hear this radio show at that time will i get to hear a replay or a post of it or something?

Wow

Nice I can’t tell you how dam excited I am to hear this. Its like a dream tag team coming together you always wanted to see, or Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio batting in the same line up one behind the other LOL A few topics I would love to hear Luke and Breen touch on is

1- There opinions on the state of BIG MMA in Japan Dream/Sengoku and what those orgs manily Dream must do and have to change to get its popularity back with the public in Japan. There opinions on Where they bolth think Dream/Sengoku will be a year from now. possible fighters in Japan making there ways to the states eather signing or possible co promotions, etc I hope and look real foward to hearing Luke and Breen bullshit about MMA in Japan.

2- What should be done with the Elite XC fighters held up in limbo, There opinions on what will happen and when we will see them finally sign with a org and fight.

3- What fighters they think will have breakout years in 09.
