You hear that
Affliction and others? Just stop what you are doing right now! Its never going to work. Just leave the whole MMA thing up to the UFC.
*Sarcasm
I guess maybe Jack in the Box, Burger King, Sonic, Wendys and others should have never challenged McDonalds then….right?
He’s saying he couldn’t go open a burger joint today and have it compete with McD’s. That’s why he said, ‘It takes time’.
I understand that
But its like hes also saying they shouldn’t even try in the first place. Like ever…which is silly. Why is he worried about Affliction losing money anyway. Let them lose it, us as fans win either way. :)

That’s not what he’s saying.
He’s saying, if you plan on creating the next McDonalds, you don’t start by opening up 1,000 restaurants and saying you’re going to kick McDonald’s ass. You open up one, figure out what you’re doing. Then slowly open up more restaurants until you have all the kinks worked out and you’re able to take on McDonalds.

UFC vs Affliction
If Affliction wants to go head to head with the UFC they should be as loud as possible about it. Everyone knows the UFC, so there is no giving them undue attention by bringing up their name. So instead of having your commentators and interviewers asking a fighter how they feel about being cut from the UFC, they should be screaming F*ck the UFC. Calling out their fighters, and bring belts into question. Starting of course with the HW division. If you want a war of popularity, you can’t win it quietly.
Laugh at Brock, abuse their rookie champion, mock Mir, all while flaunting the worlds best HW. Just to cause a stir, forget all this class and respect Attencio trys, get dirty and loud. It’s not just about solid cards that, “Speak for themselves” Marketing and promotion should be dirty anyway. Ask any news channel, negative news garners attention and viewers.
They would lose.
Atencio’s said from the beginning that going head to head with the UFC would just hurt the numbers of both.
It’s like why the XFL didn’t play on Sundays. They died anyway, but they didn’t jump off a cliff by directly challenging the dominant brand.

I’m not talking about trying to have events on the same night or go head to head. The UFC already hates and counter programs you, so what else can they do? It will work, at least better than what they are currently doing. Attencio is wrong, they either need to scale down or step up. Can’t have both. You can’t alienate all the fighters by calling them out, losing a possible future with that fighter. But to pick a couple select fights would be wise. Brock is a prime target to call out, rudely and loudly. Two UFC HW champs up, two down in under a round. What do you think Fedor will do to that puffed up paper champion that is Lesnar? (at least that could be their attitude)
There are a lot of scumbags in Affliction. Millen’s just their king.
