The main PPV bouts look stout even if the rest of the undercard is pretty horrible (Irvin/McFedries? Why?).
Why not?
It’s a fun undercard fight that will provide an “explosive” finish for any “fill-in time” as well as will get the live crowd pumped up

It doesn’t really do anything for Irvin if he wins. If McFedries somehow does (and its not likely), it just creates the opportunity for him to get KOed in really really ugly fashion by a much bigger man. The rest of it is unaired HBO boxing card type stuff.
Irvin started at heavyweight and was absolutely cut at 205. I’d be very surprised if he can make 185.
Honestly this card looks LAME
Undersized Edgar wrestler vs Supersized Sherk wrestler…. HMMMMMM
Hughes vs Serra… HMMMMMMM Lay’n’pray
Lesner vs Mir – ok i’m slightly intreagued
Nover vs TBA – could care less – hopefully its a wrestler and he gets Lay’n’prayed (that would make for 4 potential lay’n’prays already
Irvin vs McFredries – Irvin KO 1 or McFredries KO 1 it will be interesting while it lasts because both guys know being exciting is more important than winning if you’re not top 5 in ZUFFA
Houston vs Gusmao is the only fight I find the least bit exciting
Gimme 1 Round!
Edgar vs Sherk will NOT be a lay and pray.
1 wrestler = possible lay and pray
2 wrestlers = lay and pray very unlikely.
Sherk should be able to beat down Edgar like Maynard did, but he’s not as big and strong as “The Bully”.
Personally I’m thinking that could be a slug fest as both fighters are very quick with their hands.
I thought Edgar was 145 lb
I think that’s a bit awkward of him fighting Sherk. Seems like an easy win for Sherk. Why isn’t he fighting someone who should actually be in that division? Does Dana really think this low of him?
He's not technically 145
but he could cut to 150 with very little effort and 145 would be a more difficult though certainly makeable weight for him
Gimme 1 Round!
2 Wrestlers of equal size and strength
Sherk is so much bigger and more powerful than Edgar that he will Lay on him. Remember Maynard vs Edgar?
Gimme 1 Round!
That being said I hope i'm wrong
Because I knew Griffen vs Sherk would be good. But thats cause Tyson has awesome TD defense and the lower body strength to fight off Sherk’s TD’s and neither guy has KO power. I just don’t think Griffen has the strength to get Sherk off him for more than a couple minutes.
Gimme 1 Round!
I haven't given up on Gusmao yet
I like him a lot in IFL and this should be a good test for him. He’s one of the few capoeira stylists in mma these days. looked like he had IFL-itis against Jones though.
Does he have a ground game?
Or at least the ability to take a fight to the ground? Because I’d really like to see Houston pull this one out and the fight hitting the floor has been VERY bad for him.
Hey look, it’s that card that’s going to be the biggest in UFC history.
Which is funny, because it will include Dave Kaplan and GEORGE ROOP.

Agreed with Frankie
And I don’t hate the UFC – I hate ZUFFA. I just think ZUFFA generally just puts on a shit product with the UFC because they can feed all you people tripe and you suck greedily at their UFC tripe titty and beg for more. WEC on the regular puts on better cards than UFC, (at least until they changed the WEC’s matchmaker to Joe Silva illegitimate lovechild).
84 was a great card, 79 was a great card, 91 was a pretty damn good card… Beyond that I have to sit here and try to think of a great UFC card. I don’t really consider 92 anything special.
DREAM with their limited resources put on 3 and 5 which were both better than any card mentioned above with the possible exception of 84. Dynamite was better than the vast majority of UFC cards as was WEC 34 which I saw live. (The ONLY way ZUFFA gets my money).
This card is just teh Lame
Gimme 1 Round!
Nover must be fighting Machida – too elusive for the cameras.

Nice card, but what's with all the Ultimate Fighter rejects?
I understand awarding fighters contracts who fought valiantly on the show, lost in the finals, & were fan favorites. I do not welcome filling out the UFC undercards with past Ultimate Fighter rejects. In fact, most of the fighters from the show should be fighting on the Ultimate Fight NIghts. While I’d never wish for a fighter to get hurt, I for one was very happy that the Hazlett/McCrory fight was bumped up over the Sadollah back at UFC 91.
top 3 fights are super solid
there is no reason to stack this card… lesnar v mir will sell itself. hughes v serra is just a bonus
Maybe
to you, I cant wait for that fight!

Im looking forward to Edgar and Sherk. If Sherk fights like he did against Tyson Griffon this has Fight of the Night written all over it.
Personally I have hope that Nover will get a solid opponent, and pull out a solid win, I think he has quite a bit of future potential.
but honestly Roop and Kaplan?
