MMA DownUnder - CFC #7
The Guys at CFC have annouced that their next MMA event in Sydney will take place on Friday the 20th of February at Luna Park. Featured on the card so far include the LHW title fight between Bernardo Trekko and Rob Hill. Hector Lombard (recent US signing last time I heard) will fight Hawaiian Ron Verdadero for the MW title on the same card.
Other fighters are on the card include: Adrian Pang, Kian Pham, Jai Bradney, Jon Leven. No news on other fighters or the bouts yet but I will update accordingly.
I have been to a couple of the CFC events in the past and I got to say they put on a good show. Little time between fights (once they start), decent crowd, and usually it's a packed house. If you are in Sydney I would highly recommend the night of fights.

Cool, thanks for the update.
I’ve seen a few of their shows on Fox a few times. All the fighters are game, despite some key deficiencies in their skill sets. The major problem I have with them is the commentary team. It just doesn’t seem to gel with me. The play by play guy, that also does the K-1 (Andy Raymond?) just appears to be trying too hard at times, and the other guy just annoys me.
yeah, have to agree. by the time it gets to fuel TV ithe commentary is spam. getting simple names wrong, and speaking just for the hell of it. etc.
but what you going to do? you dont tune in and support them they’ll go the way of X-agon…

Please don’t mention that show. If I’m right thats the one where they have one round Muay Thai, one round something else and then one round MMA. With only 30 seconds allowed on the ground.
I remember I watched one where one dude was getting beaaten up by the superior kickboxer for the first two rounds and then in third got a takedown and transitioned straight into an armbar and had it on but was stood up just as the thirty seconds went.
I then proceeded to turn off the TV and weep into my pillow.
pretty certain it was xplosion.
x-agon were the guys that held their events inside some art studio or something. when the media heard about it of couse TT and ACA had a field day. hence they went under. i check they’re rules and it does say anything about split rounds – http://x-agon.com/rules.shtml
Xplosion were up on the gold coast. but i’ll be happy to be corrected abou the rules because i never have been to one of their events. i know that they did mixed cards – some kick boxing and some MMA.
