Bloody Elbow Quote of The Night: Larry Merchant
Oscar De La Hoya is in nearby Anaheim where his company got a 5 million dollar fee from a t-shirt maker, so that he can be personally involved in the promotion of a mixed martial art show. It would take that much to get me to go to one of those things.
Larry Merchant commenting on some interesting details in Golden Boy's involvement in Affliction Entertainment and trashing MMA on HBO's live broadcast of Margarito-Mosley encounter.

I echo that. I’m a huge boxing fan as well so after DoR I had the Margs/Mos fight already DVR’d and ready to go. When we heard Merchants ignorant ass my house errupted lol. FUCK LARRY MERCHANT! GTFO and bring Max back in for good!

At first, I though $5M to get in an Affliction shirt. I would have agreed with him on that point.

I do wonder if it's true
But Larry Merchant is an old school boxing guy. He hates MMA and would love to sabotage anything to do with it.
Merchant and Lampley shared a smug laugh, too
The thing that bothered me, apart from the two of them and their annoying vendetta against MMA, was that I’m sitting there watching a fight where Antonio Margarito tried to come to the ring with plaster of Paris on his wraps, apparently, yet it’s MMA that’s barbaric. Shut up, Larry.
"I decided to become a basketball fan this year and it’s not working out so well because the Wizards SUUUCK. So then I shifted to hockey. That’s pretty fun except there are a lot of flashing lights and horns and shit at the game."
It’s gonna be real interesting when the whole story with that plaster stuff comes to light. That is some shady shit right there.

He’s talking out of his ass. De La Hoya is a superstar but nobody’s gonna nobody 5 million to sit there and look cool, not with the economy the way it is and the financial strife Affliction FC is dealing with. 5 million is more then their entire fighter payroll. So I just cant see it.
YAMATO DAMASHII
I tend to give Merchant a break....
Let’s face it, he’s in the twighlight of his life, and the sport that he loves so dearly is being usurped from it’s throne as the #1 combat sport around. It’s Lampley that bugs the piss out of me.
