Mark Bocek vs. David Bielkheden at UFC97
UFC lightweights Mark Bocek and David Bielkheden will be squaring off at UFC 97 in Montreal in April, according to a report from MMA Junkie:
Swedish fighter David Bielkheden (13-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC), originally expected to fight in March at UFC 96, now says he has agreed to fight Canadian jiu-jitsu specialist Mark Bocek (6-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in April at UFC 97.
Bielkheden recently announced the fight in his official blog
Bielkheden, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist and native of Sweden is a well-established veteran of the European MMA scene and Pride as well. He made his UFC debut at UFC 82 where he was overmatched against Diego Sanchez and fighting at a higher-than-normal weight class, resulting in him submitting due to strikes from Sanchez. He rebounded at UFC 89 in October at his more natural 155 lbs, winning a unanimous decision over Jess Liaudin.
Bocek, also a BJJ specialist and based out of Toronto, Canada, is affiliated with American Top Team. He evened out his UFC career record at 2-2 with a submission win over Alvin Robinson at UFC 91 in November, and looks to continue to showcase his standout grappling skills.
