God I want this guy in the UFC. And if he’s successful I think he could be very influential in not only the UFC getting greater exposure and popularity in Japan, but in inspiring Japanese talent to sign with the UFC.

That and

a lot of legitimacy to public eye in general. For the UFC to have a gold medalist from the latest Olympics would make great strides in opening some eyes and making MMA a little more mainstream I belive.

Possibly...

However Ishii has stated that he wants to fight in America first and foremost. I can’t find the quote right now but he said something along the lines of a UFC show in Japan would be “fake” and his number one goal is to fight in America.

He doesn’t have to fight in Japan for the UFC to expand there. I’m sure his fans would love to watch his fights regardless of where he fights. Of course, 2 fights in the US with one in Japan wouldn’t hurt either.

he’ll come into the UFC, wrestlers and BJJ guys will get tossed or even submitted (Yoshida vs Kopenhaver, or Karo P.’s fights)…and wrestlers and BJJ guys will still discount Judo.
