Why have Watch Kaleb Run?
I don't want to sound like a dick but why do we have Watch Kaleb Run? Zak is awesome, no doubt, but I don't understand why we need two MMA blogs. The title bothers me because I don't like giving attention to an idiot and I have yet to see anything at WKR that I couldn't have missed. Does anyone have any thoughts on this that can help me to appreciate WKR?

Watch Kalib Run has existed for several months prior to joining Sports Blog Nation. The decision to run WKR as a stand-alone blog was Zak’s.
We have plenty of writers here at BE and having his own blog gives Zak a forum.
MMA Mania is also joining the SBN.
So is MMA 4 Real.
WKR and 4 Real will both be focusing on regional MMA in their areas. The goal is for WKR to be THE go to site for MMA in Ohio, KY and PA.
MMA 4 Real will be focusing on N Carolina and the lower east coast.
We’re thinking in terms of years not days and plan to grow with the sport.
We’re hoping to add blogs on west coast mma, the pacific northwest, canada, japan, brazil. Also judo, amateur wrestling and maybe K-1.
The world of the 21st century is about niche marketing.
Dig?
SAY WORD. SBN is building a killer team of MMA sites. Definitely looking forward to more regional content from WKR and MMA 4 Real.

I like my marketing nationally homogenized and focus-grouped prior to my seeing it. This is bullshit.

I understand
I am a big fan of “one stop shopping” and it carries over to blogging. I definitely understand the “years not days” mentality and it is very smart. We are talking about niches within the niche. A K-1 blog would be welcomed for sure!

I agree with Warhand on the name issue ...
“Watch Kalib Run” is not a “longterm” name because it invokes an assclown who has already been forgotten by the sport (and it’s hard to spell! A lot of people will spell it Kaleb).

lol..thats proving a point!
I didn’t notice until you pointed it out. hard to argue with thetakeover on this point.

Yep
MMA4Real is eagerly anticipating this move. The MMA scene here in North Carolina and surrounding areas are exploding. There’s also some pretty talented guys here. I’m working tirelessly to establish MMA4Real as THE #1 spot for North Carolina MMA. For those that are critical of WKR. A unbelievable amount of work goes into establishing a blog, especially blogs that are pretty much one man shows unlike BE. These niche within a niche blogs will be vital to the growth of the sport. So your support is greatly appreciated. I can only speak for MMA4Real, but if you ever visit and have suggestions etc. I’m more than welcome to them, but trust that major changes will be underway as soon as I’m transitioned to the SBNation platform.

You’ve got a great site, Kelvin. I’m glad to see that you’re being hooked up with the SBNation. I enjoyed the interview with Din Thomas a while back. It would be awesome to see him in the cage sometime soon. Keep up the good work!

why does anyone care?
The guy has a blog, he gave it a creative name that’s kind of funny in an ‘inside joke’ way…
Why is this an issue for anyone else?
Good question.
