On January 31st, two 13-0 fighters, Thiago Silva and Lyoto Machida, will finally come face to face in the Octagon; in what can be described as a clash between two of the world's hottest 205er's, that may also produce a definitive #1 Contender in waiting. While many MMA fans are hotly anticipating this fight, I don't feel that the suspense is nearly enough. Thiago makes an interesting point of what could eventually occur in the UFC light heavyweight title picture in his interview with Tatame.
In an interview to TATAME, you had bet on the victory of Rashad Evans on Forrest Griffin... What did you think of the fight?
I thought it was cool. Forrest printed a good game on top, but ended up crashing on the floor. Rashad was much more prepared at the ground and knew how to advantage. I thought it was cool, is an unbeaten owner of a belt and, God willing, we will have two unbeaten disputing the belt... It will be cool, huh?
Personally, I could not be more excited to finally see these two lock horns, and I'm only marginally less enthusiastic about this fight than the BJ/GSP fight of the same card. This is likely to be a heavily argued fight up until the night of UFC 94 that I expect to have a pretty close betting line. I'll be the first (of many, no doubt) to throw my hat into the Machida circle; choosing him to win via round two TKO. What say you?
