Disclosure: Working for the UWC
I'm very excited to let our BloodyElbow readers know that I've signed on to do some PR work for the Ultimate Warrior Challenge. I don't often talk about my day job because until now none of our clients had anything to do with MMA, but now in the interest of full disclosure to our readers I"m letting you know.
I honestly doubt I'll be blogging much about the event -- Luke's going to want to claim the scoops and I'd prefer to avoid blogging about a client.
I will say this though, as I wrote at the time, the last Ultimate Warrior Challenge was the best MMA event I've seen live in years! Every fight was exciting and there were some great matchups on the card. The card for the February 21st event is even more stacked so I'm absolutely thrilled to be shilling for the UWC.
We recognize and share the concerns of those who worry that MMA bloggers are building relationships (paid and otherwise) with MMA promoters, fighters and managers and that those relationships are impacting the coverage.
All we can do is be honest and up front about our conflicts and promise to do our best to not let anything impact our commitment to giving our readers our honest take on today's MMA scene.

Screw those with concerns. The more of you hooked in with UWC means the better coverage for people like myself, Steve, Matt, and everyone else who is local and has interest in the promotion.
