"I really don't think about being undefeated...I'm just going to go out there, let my hands fly and see what happens."

Wow, he needs to change his nickname to Sugardamus ASAP.

I guess Suga Rashad is living up to his moniker.

Be Like Water

Looks like Rashad got those Bruce Lee tapes his momma sent him…Also a bit of foreshadowing with a member of Rich Franklins corner talking about his precise ability to find the liver (see: Matt Hamill crumple in pain)

Genarally Humble

Evans takes a lot of heat from the haters for being a show boater. I personally don’t mind show boaters as I consider it entertaining (Think Mohammed Ali) but Evans is actually pretty humble for being the undefeated bad ass “mofo” that he is. In all of the interviews I have seen he is soft spoken and pretty “matter of fact” about what he is talking about. This quote is a good example of that as was his post fight interview.

Yeah, after his KTFO of Liddell my wife thought he was kind of an ass for dancing around in the cage. I said “listen, no one, and I mean NO one though he had much of a chance against Liddell and here he clobbered Liddell back to 1982, I am perfectly fine he’s doing a happy dance..” Shit, I probably would have being doing a lot more grandstanding that he was if I was in his shoes.

Why didn’t he pay another tribute to GSP and do the flip or breakdance?

I thought the Sanford & Son chest grab was pretty dope.

Oh, I fully enjoyed the Fred Sanford chest grab myself.

Not quite psychic

All he said was that he was gonna throw punches. Now, if he said, “I’m gonna catch him with an overhand right when he comes in for a sloppy uppercut, and he’ll fall down and look dead” then maybe I’d believe he has the third eye …

… maybe your’e not too familiar with the “quality” of Nostradamus’ predictions. Evans “predicting” that he’d try to hit Chuck and then see what happens is actually just about as strikingly pinpointed and accurate as most of Nostradamus’ predictions were …. (though I doubt that’s really what Luke was going for here)

You guys are some literalist nitpickers.

More nitpicking...
“Tonight I’m hosting Chuck Liddell’s retirement party. After this fight, he’s gonna take off his gloves and walk his old ass out the octagon, and I’m gonna stand there, bein’ the victor.”

Did Chuck actually walk out of the octagon?

by Chris Nelson on Sep 8, 2008 5:29 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Maybe not, but he sure made Chuck dribble into it.
